In recent years, with the rapid development of RFID technology,RFID application has begun to gradually integrate into our daily life, more and more items are labeled with RFID tags. The RFID tags are mostly passive tags, which does not require additional power supply, this design makes the RFID tag more convenient deployment, but the use of electromagnetic signals to activate the circuit the perception will be restricted.RFID tags in addition to the inherent information in the tag,can not provide more information. And in the context of the Internet of things(IOT),the RPID tags as the heart of perceptual object is widely used in a variety of scenarios. Therefore, based on passive sensing mechanism study of RFID technology can help us perceive more information in RPID field. In this paper,we study the passive sensing mechanism to solve two real problems.First of all,in view of some shortcomings of the current augmented reality(AR)technology,we proposed the use of passive sensing technolo-gy combined with 3D camera technology to complete the augmented reality for object recognition. We deploy the RFID antenna and the depth camera in the same position, then synchronously obtain object image position and RFID tags position information, eventually to match information to complete the identification. The core problem is study of RFID localization technology.Through the received signal strength indica-tion(RSSI),phase and antenna array research,we propose some methods to improve the augmented reality technique for object recognition accuracy and robustness. And we realized a real system to verify the performance of our technology. Finally, the experimental results show that our system can achieve the 30cm level of the localiza-tion and the matching accuracy rate is 91%.Next,get rid of the traditional positioning field,in order to understand the passive sensing technology in the ability of motion recognition,we designed a RF-Glove system based on RFID technology. The glove uses passive sensing tags, through the RFID tag on each finger, convenient and quick to give the finger sensing ability. For each RFID tag,our system will continue to obtain its phase signal, and the phase profiles algorithm is proposed to deal with these signals, and ultimately complete the micromovement recognition. The experiment results show that we achieve an average accuracy of 89%within an average latency of less than 8 ms,where the number of finger micromovement types is eight, and we achieve enough robustness under the situations of various sampling rates, moving speeds, orientation deviations and arm movements.
