Network coding, which is a significant breakthrough theory in computer communication field in recent years, has been proved to be a promising new route technique enable to promote the network performance greatly.Compares with the traditional route way,the essence of network coding is the intermediate nodes in the network not only perform store-replicate-forward to the packets they received from incoming links, but also generate new encoded packets for each of their out links by using a kind of linear combination of the incoming packets.Due to the advantage of maximizing the network capacity and enhancing the network robust, network coding has become a very important brunch in current network technology research. Moreover, the broadcast nature of wireless networks makes them more suitable the application of network coding. It takes advantage of the broadcast nature of the wireless channels to better utilize the available wireless resources. Therefore, lots of attention has focused on the combining research of network coding and wireless networks.Due to the open signal channel environment in wireless networks, they are very vulnerable to some threat issues. In this paper,we mainly consider the security problems in wireless network coding.Currently, the main threat facing the wireless network coding can be classified into two categories: passive attack and active attack.Passive attack is also named eavesdrop attack, which means there are some eavesdroppers in the network intending to get the source information by eavesdropping the information transmitted through the networks.Active attack is also named pollution attack, which means there are some malicious nodes in the network intending to inject some bogus packets into the network or modify the packets transmitted through the network. As a result, the sink nodes cannot decode the received information to recover the source information.Hence,in order to provide reliable network communication,it is imperative to deal with the security issues in wireless network coding networks. In this paper, the basic concept of network coding is introduced. The paper also discusses the linear network coding, especially the randomized linear network coding approach for wireless network coding.Next two types of attack model and corresponding solutions in related work are presented. We present our work in dealing with the security issues in wireless network coding. For the eavesdrop attack,we propose a two-way secure transmission network coding scheme against eavesdrop attack. For the pollution attack,we propose a Multi-tag secure network coding scheme.A tag value is set as N to adjust the security level while ensuring the correctness of the packets verification process. We also demonstrate the security proof and computing overhead of each corresponding scheme. The results show that our proposed schemes not only provide high security, but also have better cost performance than some existed methods.Hence they are very suitable for tackling the security issues in wireless network coding.
