From the biginning,the novel communication model based on eyeable light to transmit signal——visible light communication(VLC)had attracted the people 's attention.Through the joint efforts of the researchers at home and abroad,the development of VLC based on light emitting diode(LED)is fast.Howeve r,the application of VLC in public life also has a long way to go.There are still many questions restrict the application development of VLC.To speed up the development,some key technologies or innovations are indispensable.At present,the limitation modulation bandwidth and the nonlinearity effect of the LED are the most serious questions in VLC.To increase the communication speed and reliability of VLC,it is significant to study the mitigation of the LED nonlinearity and modulation format with high spectral efficiency.In this paper,it will be discussed as following sections ——the research status of VLC,the selection of the modulation format,the LED nonlineartity effect,clip technology,DFT-Spread-OFDM technology,the hardware design of the VLC experimental setup,the experiment on clipped DFT-Spread-OFDM,etc.In this paper,through the experimental comparison among clipped OFDM scheme,DFT-Spread-OFDM scheme with clipped DFT-Spread-OFDM scheme,it has been demonstrated the superiority of the clipped DFT-Spread-OFDM,and it has been verified that clipped DFT-Spread-OFDM can mitigate the LED nonlinearity effect in VLC.
