In the era of rapid expansion of digital platform,the research of platform has entered the field of vision of social science and humanities.Game platform is not only a profit-making business organization,but also a place to produce game culture.This paper will use the field theory to describe the field conflict and competition logic of the game platform from the outside to the mainland,taking the representative platform Steam as an example.This paper explores the power distribution and location structure of the game platform field,as well as the characteristics of the platform itself and the personal experience of the players,and analyzes how the steam platform can cultivate the habits of the audience,improve the communication interaction ability and symbol control ability,and finally achieve the transformation and accumulation of capital.This paper uses the research methods of participatory observation and semi-structured interview,selects Steam and its players in the online game platform as the research object.Firstly,it combs the development process of steam platform,and analyzes the advantages of Steam in functional policy compared with other game platforms.Secondly,using the theory of organizational field,this paper analyzes the conflicts faced by Steam platform in the field of industrial organization,including the "heteronomy" of rights field and the competition of other platforms.Summing up the capital accumulation and transformation strategies of Steam in the face of these conflicts,it is found that the key capital of the game platform in the early stage of development is cultural capital,but the symbolic capital gradually becomes the stage of field reproduction,that is,the key capital accumulated when Steam maintains its central organization position.Finally,this paper uses the cultural production field theory to analyze the internal field of Steam platform.It is found that Steam maintains its internal rule through the implementation of economic power,symbolic power and technical power,but also faces the struggle and resistance between manufacturers and players.However,Steam platform has a strong communication and interaction ability,which can respond to the demands of manufacturers and players,and also provides a space for players to implement the right of speech,and finally realizes the balance of internal field power structure.Generally speaking,the competition logic of steam platform is to accumulate cultural and symbolic capital in the early stage,transform it into economic capital to occupy the center of organizational field,and then form differentiation and separation with competitors through the strengthening of symbolic capital and the implementation of symbolic violence.At the same time,in the internal field,Steam is not only the "heteronomy" pole that dominates other actors,but also provides game space for other actors,which gives Steam a more stable power structure than its competitors.
