Understanding the mental health core literacy and explaining its connotation structure and cultivation path are the practical needs to solve the mental health problems of primary and middle school students in the new era."Guideline for Mental Health Education in Primary and Secondary Schools",which was newly revised in 2012,is our current action guide for the implementation of mental health education in primary and secondary schools. However, the compilation of the "Outline" is still based on the concept and understanding of quality education, and the connotation of mental health core literacy has not yet been defined, thus affecting the specific implementation of the cultivation of mental health core literacy in textbooks. In recent years,Chinese scholars have conducted in-depth research on psychological qualities and mental health qualities.Mental health qualities mainly emphasize the individual's overall psychological qualities including cognition, personality, interpersonal and adaptability.Foreign scholars pay more attention to mental health literacy.Mental health literacy involves related knowledge, beliefs and abilities to help people understand, maintain and promote mental health.Firstly, based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars, this article explores the connotation and composition of mental health core literacy, and draws on relevant research results at home and abroad. We define mental health core literacy as: "Knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs about mental health that individuals acquire through acquired efforts and the impact of the environment and education, and gradually form comprehensive key psychological abilities and psychological qualities that can adapt to social development. These psychological abilities and psychological quality will promote the individual's mental health and correct understanding, management or prevention of mental disorders." Secondly, this study takes three domestic and foreign versions of mental health education textbooks as research objects. From the perspective of the core literacy and mental health core literacy connotation, this study attempts to use the literature research method and content analysis method to compare and analyze the three versions of mental health education textbooks in terms of teaching goals, curriculum content and textbook presentation. The results of comparativeanalysis show that the three versions of mental health education textbooks have their own strengths. In terms of teaching goals, the two versions of the textbooks in China focus on cultivating students' positive psychological quality to maintain their own psychological health and harmony;?Mental Health & High School Curriculum Guide?pays more attention to the ability that students need to master when they encounter psychological problems,so as to promote the healthy development of individuals. In terms of content, the two versions of our country focuses more on cultivating students' psychological qualities, which is to consolidate their existing abilities on the basis of their individual characteristics; The content of ? Mental Health & High School Curriculum Guide?focuses more on practice. In terms of presentation form, the content of the two versions of the textbooks in our country is more abundant, and each class is accompanied by illustrations, but the module title is abstract and the connection between the module content structure is poor; The meaning of ?Mental Health & High School Curriculum Guide? module title is clear, but there is no illustration. Finally,on the basis of the above research conclusions,it is further examined whether the content of mental health education textbooks is effective, with a view to providing reference suggestions for the purpose of cultivating the mental health core literacy of students and the compilation and revision of mental health education textbooks.
