In recent years, the economic development levels of various parts of our country have been significantly improved, but the problem of uneven regional economic development has also become increasingly serious. From the perspective of industrial co-agglomeration,this paper uses empirical tests on the data of cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.It provides new research ideas for the classical problem of income, and also enriches the existing research on the theory of industrial co-agglomeration.This paper first reviews the literature on industrial agglomeration,co-agglomeration,and wages, and then states the mechanism of industrial co-agglomeration on regional wage levels.Based on the relevant data of 106 cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2004 to 2016,the classic panel econometric model was used to study the internal relationship between them.Next, the panel threshold model was used to test the effect of industrial co-agglomeration on regional wage. The paper concludes as follows:(1)In the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the average wage has increased significantly, and the wage gap between cities has relatively decreased.(2)The level of industrial co-agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has gradually declined from a higher level, and the gap between the levels of industrial co-agglomeration between regions has gradually increased, while the gap has gradually decreased in recent years. The level of industrial co-agglomeration is higher in the middle and lower reaches, while the level of manufacturing and producer services in the downstream areas is higher.(3)The level of co-agglomeration of manufacturing and financial industries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is the highest, but only the level of co-agglomeration of manufacturing and leasing and business services has increased year by year, and the rest have declined.(4)The co-agglomeration of producer service industries and manufacturing industries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt can promote the increase of regional wages, and there is no inverted Ushaped relationship. In addition,it has time heterogeneity and regional heterogeneity, and different types of producer service industries and manufacturing industries have different co-agglomeration effects.(5)There is a threshold effect on the impact of industrial co-agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt on regional wage. The whole, upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt passed a single threshold test, while the lower reaches passed a double threshold test. When the level of industrial co-agglomeration is over the threshold of 0.8505,its positive effect on regional wage is further enhanced.Because the industrial agglomeration does not reach a certain scale in the upper reaches, the industrial agglomeration can significantly promote regional wage when the level of industrial agglomeration is relatively low.The higher the level of industrial co-agglomeration in the middle reaches, the more favorable it is for wage growth. As far as lower reaches are concerned, both lower and higher levels of industrial co-agglomeration can promote regional wage. The policy suggestions will be put forward based on the above analysis results.Firstly, different regions should adopt different industrial development policies.Secondly,we should develop producer services.Last but not the least,we should continue to strengthen the role of human capital, infrastructure and correspondence in raising regional wage and reducing wage gap.
