National identity is the rational recognition of citizens' politics,history,geography,culture,citizenship in the process of interaction with society,and emotional attitudes such as a sense of identity and sense of belonging,and behaviors such as actively assume social responsibility.Cultivating the national identity of citizens has great significance to both national development and personal progress.With economic globalization,cultural diversification,information networking and international exchanges becoming close increasingly,the national identity of primary and secondary school students is facing challenges.For this reason,school education must shoulder the heavy responsibility of national identity education.National identity education is a practice in which educators,in accordance with the needs of the country and the development of the educated,purposefully,systematically and systematically cultivate the educator's recognition of the country's politics,history,geography,culture,citizenship.The activities enable the educated to form a rational cognition of the country to which they belong in the education process,and based on this,produce emotional attitudes and behavioral performance.The curriculum integration of national identity education refers to the integration of national politics,history,geography,culture,citizenship,and school knowledge in schools,in order to cultivate students' sense of identity,responsibility,belonging and loyalty to the country in school education course integration process.Based on a systematic analysis of domestic and foreign literature,this study sorts out the current status and shortcomings of related research.Based on the results of related research on national identity education,it makes a theoretical analysis of the goals,content,implementation and evaluation of national identity education in primary and secondary school curricula.And through questionnaire surveys and interview surveys,eight primary and secondary schools in Tianjin were taken as examples in order to reveal the current status of national identity education integration into primary and secondary school curricula,and explore the curriculum goals,curriculum content,curriculum types,and teacher teaching methods,curriculum resources and curriculum evaluation.The survey found that the national identity education is well integrated into the primary and secondary school curriculum.Specifically,the state agrees that the curriculum objectives,curriculum content,and curriculum types are well integrated,with clear curriculum objectives,comprehensive curriculum content,and diverse curriculum types;but teachers' teaching methods,curriculum resources,and curriculum evaluation still have some space to improve.At this stage,the teacher's teaching methods are based on theoretical indoctrination,the development and use of curriculum resources are lack of effectiveness,and the course evaluation urgently needs to be established.In addition,the situation that national identity education integrating into primary and secondary school curriculum is different.It is mainly manifested in two aspects: First,there are grade differences in the integration of national identity education.The integration of junior high school is better than that of primary school in six aspects: curriculum objective,curriculum content,curriculum type,teachers' teaching methods,curriculum resources and curriculum evaluation.Second,there are urban-rural differences in curriculum types,curriculum resources,and teacher teaching methods,and the situation of urban schools is better than that of village schools.Based on this,this study proposes optimization strategies for integrating national identity education into primary and secondary school curriculum in order to strengthen the relevance and effectiveness of national identity education in primary and secondary schools: Firstly,focusing on curriculum goals in rational recognition knowledge,emotion attitude,and behavioral performance at the national,local,and school levels;Secondly,strengthening the curriculum content of historical identity,geographical identity,and citizenship identity in the subject curriculum,school-based curriculum,practical activities,and campus cultural environment of primary school;Thirdly,village schools need to develop school-based curriculum that has school characteristics,and make full use of the important festivals and major social events to carry out national identity education practice activities;Fourthly,improving teachers 'national identity literacy and teachers' teaching method;Fifthly,strengthening the development of curriculum resources both inside and outside the school.Sixthly,improving the curriculum evaluation of national identity education,focusing on the supervision of the national identity education of schools and teachers,and basing on the overall development of students to evaluate the national identity of students.
