Polya has published more than 200 papers and many monographs in his whole life.He has profound attainments in the broad field of mathematics and is a very outstanding mathematical educator.This paper is mainly based on one of Polya's works: how to solve problems.This book is equivalent to the "slow camera playback" of Polya's thinking process or thinking process when solving problems.By the "exploration method",it discusses the solving rules and methods in mathematics.The purpose is to teach students how to think,which is in accordance with the education goal advocated by the general high school mathematics curriculum standard(2017 edition)of our country.The mathematical formula is the key content of senior high school mathematics,which also occupies a large proportion in the college entrance examination.However,students often have problems such as the formula can not be memorized,the formula is confused,and the formula can not be used correctly.The teaching mode emphasized by Polya would arouse students' interest,arouse their curiosity and inspire their thinking.It can improve the students' ability for solving problems.Therefore the thesis explores the application of Polya's problem solving thought in teaching.The students can better understand the relevant content of formulas.Literature method,interview method,case study method and questionnaire survey,paper analysis method are used to carry out relevant research.the thesis consists of the following three parts.The first part is to explain the concept of Polya's teaching and the idea for how to solve problems.It provides a theoretical basis for the second part to design teaching cases.The second part is to analyze the necessity and feasibility of Polya's problem solving thought in the teaching of mathematical formulas.The relevant teaching cases are provided.In the third part,compared with the traditional classroom teaching,it is proved that the teaching method of mathematical formula under the guidance of Polya's problem solving thought can improve students' understanding of mathematical formula.And the students' mathematical performance can be improved.Under the guidance of the curriculum standard,the thesis explores the teaching methods suitable for mathematical formulas.It has certain guiding significance for the teachers in the teaching of mathematical formulas.Based on Polya's problem solving thought,the thesis guides the teaching of mathematical formulas.It not only meets the requirements of the curriculum standard of "students as the main body",but also can better train students' ability of finding,analyzing and solving problems.In the process of teaching,students' ability of independent inquiry has also been well exercised.Students can actively participate in the classroom of mathematical formula teaching.So they can improve their understanding of the essence of mathematical formula.
