Model making school-based curriculum is a comprehensive practical activity course which integrates science,engineering,art,mathematics and so on.It is of great significance to the cultivation of students' practical operation ability,scientific and technological interest,engineering thinking,moral quality and so on.Since the curriculum reform,many primary schools have developed model-making school-based curriculum to meet the development needs of students,but there are still some problems in the development of this kind of curriculum.This paper investigates the present situation of school-based curriculum development in model making,analyzes the problems and causes in school-based curriculum development in model making,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.This paper presents the classroom teaching situation of two primary school model making school-based curriculum in Chengdu by using observation method,interviews the teachers and leaders of five primary schools in Chengdu participating in the development of school-based curriculum for model making,and collects the relevant data of school model making school-based curriculum development.The full text is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which expounds the reason,significance and research basis of this paper.The second part is the research design,introduces the research ideas,research schools and data collection and analysis.A survey of the current situation of school-based curriculum development in five primary schools in Chengdu found that the main problems in curriculum development are:lack of comprehensive understanding of curriculum objectives in curriculum design,lack of reasonable basis for goal formulation,lack of complete design of curriculum content based oncompetition content and content organization;in curriculum implementation,classroom teaching tends to skills training,lack of cooperation among students in teaching groups,deviation of students' evaluation methods;in curriculum evaluation,external evaluation is still dominant and lack of integration of curriculum evaluation.The fourth part analyzes the reasons for the problems of school-based curriculum development in primary school model making: the attitude of teachers and leaders is not positive,the professional ability of teachers is limited,the resources of curriculum development are scarce,and the system of curriculum evaluation and reward is not perfect.In the fifth part,aiming at the problems existing in the development of model-making school-based curriculum and its causes,the following suggestions are put forward for the development of primary school model-making school-based curriculum: improving teachers' curriculum concept and comprehensive quality,formulating reasonable model-making school-based curriculum objectives,rationally designing model-making school-based curriculum content,smoothly implementing model-making school-based curriculum implementation,rationally evaluating model-making school-based curriculum and perfecting model-making school-based curriculum development system.The sixth part summarizes the conclusions and shortcomings of this study.
