Literature research results show that the classification standards of exercises are diverse,but there is no research on the classification of exercises based on the analysis of the internal mechanism of problem-solving in cognitive psychology.Some exercises classification is based on the New Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Objective,but they do not explain the essence of each cognitive level.Based on these,this paper conducts theoretical and practical research.The theoretical part includes:1.Classification criteria for physics exercises.Cognitive psychology views problem solving as a process in which individuals use cognitive strategies to select and combine the skills required.From the process point of view,whether the individual can use appropriate strategies at different stages will affect the solution of the problem;from the results,the individual may form a new combination of necessary skills or not.Based on this,this paper determined the classification criteria of physical exercises: the types of cognitive strategies used by individuals at different stages in problem solving,and whether new combinations of necessary skills were formed.This novel idea fills the gap in the application of cognitive psychology in the research of exercises classification.This part also focuses on various methods in the field of physics problem solving,such as: strong methods to solve a type of problems,weak methods to solve physics exercises,etc.2.Classification system of physics exercises.Based on the above classification criteria,the physical exercises are divided into five categories: Knowledge,Understanding the Laws of Concepts,Understanding Rules,Analysis and Innovation.This classification can explain the essence of each cognitive level in the Bloom's Taxonomy from the perspective of the internal mechanism of problem solving.For example,there are two types of “Analysis”.Solving unfamiliar real situation problems requires understanding the laws of physical concepts.Solving unfamiliar abstract situation problems requires understanding the implicit process or state conditions in the physics state or process model.In this way,the internal process and the results of solving problems correspond to the Bloom's Taxonomy,which can improve the application of the Bloom's Taxonomy in the physics to a certain extent.The practical part includes:1.Relevance research on the ability performance of exercises at all levels.The results show that:(1)solving the Understanding Rules exercises only requires corresponding problem schemas without understanding of the laws of physical concepts;(2)the Analysis is a synthesis of the Understanding the Laws of Concepts and the Understanding Rules,of which the former is a prerequisite;(3)the Innovation exercises mainly reflect innate mathematical and logical abilities.2.Research on the influence of the proportion of the Innovation exercises in the test papers on the selective examination.The results show that when the proportion is 40%-45%,the selection of the test is the strongest.
