Paying attention to the high-quality development of secondary vocational schools and promoting the connotative development of secondary vocational schools are not only the urgent need for secondary vocational schools to cope with the changes and challenges in the new era but also the strategic goals of promoting the reform and development of secondary vocational schools.Nowadays,cultural management has become a new trend of school management,and school construction must follow certain cultural logic.Campus culture is the unique cultural power of the school,whose functions and values have been appreciated and excavated by people.The role of campus culture in school construction and management has gradually become prominent.However,there exist many problems in the construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools.Therefore,intensifying the related research strength is in need,and theoretical and practical research also requires following up.This research orients towards the connotative development of secondary vocational schools,taking campus culture as the entry point.Based on current research results and the analysis of pre-survey data,this research develops some survey tools(e.g.,interview outlines and survey questionnaires)independently.Then,the research conducts interviews with ten heads of campus culture,six faculty members,and eight students from ten secondary vocational schools in Shanghai.At the same time,178 faculty members and 480 students take part in a questionnaire survey.Besides,the research exploits two forms of observation,including field visits and physical analysis.On account of theoretical research and empirical investigation,the research explores the construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools,including objectively investigating the basic situation of the construction,summarizing the issues during the construction,rationally analyzing the reasons why these issues exist,and deeply exploring the basic orientation when constructing campus culture in secondary vocational schools.Furthermore,the research conducts a case analysis on a secondary vocational school with favorable construction of campus culture.By investigating and introspecting this practical case of campus culture construction,and by exploring the basic orientation of campus culture construction in secondary vocational schools,the research builds a hexahedron model of campus culture construction in secondary vocational schools,from which a practical paradigm of campus culture construction in secondary vocational schools is extracted.The main conclusions of this research are:(1)At present,secondary vocational schools emphasize,increasingly invest,and continually follow up the construction of campus culture,which has achieved significant effect.Nevertheless,there still exists a situation where new and old issues intertwine.(2)A range of problems exists in the construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools,mainly focusing on the suspension of the value proposition,the singleness of the subject of the construction,the contradiction of the logical foundation,the bias in the process of the implementation,and the deviation of grasping the unique features.(3)The reasons for the problems in the construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools are various.At least,there are distortions in five aspects,including status,subject,thought,content,and feature.Specifically,the utilitarianism largely surpasses the conscious awareness;the cultural construction has not specified "whose culture";the comprehensive system engineering adopts single pipeline;the creation of cultural symbols is emphasized while the expression of connotation is neglected,and it appears a lack of rational consciousness in the pursuit of featured campus culture.(4)The construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools should persist in stipulating the strategic position of developing campus culture,establishing the concept of the co-construction of campus culture,fostering the awareness of the construction of campus culture systems,coordinating the construction of the elements related to campus culture,and creating distinctive characteristics of campus culture.(5)The construction and the cultivation of campus culture should be systematic,comprehensive,and long-term.The promotion of campus culture construction requires a set of integrated concept and practice planning system.The construction of campus culture in secondary vocational schools can be carried out in six main aspects,including philosophy,goal,subject,method,structure,and material,to clarify a clear cultural mission and establish the cultural status,forge the cultural brand and advocate distinctive development,respect the cultural subject and make teachers and students play their roles,explore the cultural paths and clarify the construction context,understand the cultural structure and achieve system internalization,as well as unearth cultural resources and reveal connotative advantages.
