A new round of technological and industrial revolutions throughout the world is constantly being upgraded and upgraded,which has raised new demands for the cultivation of engineering talents.Under the emerging engineering background,engineering colleges undertake new missions and tasks.Curriculum,as a carrier of talent cultivation and teaching,plays a vital role in the development of China's higher education.The nature of general education determines that it should undertake the important task of cultivating "complete people".This study reforms and reorganizes the general education curriculum system of engineering colleges and universities,and intends to construct an innovative,feasible and repeatable model of general education curriculum system of engineering colleges.The first part of this research first clarifies the research background and research methods.The second part adopts the literature research method to clarify the concept of general education curriculum and the development of general education at home and abroad,and point out the disadvantages of general education curriculum in engineering colleges.The third part selects the general education systems of two well-known engineering universities at home and abroad for analysis and research,which is a reference for the construction of general education models for engineering universities below.The fourth part elaborates the theoretical basis of general education curriculum,the training objectives and basis of general education in engineering colleges,and lays the theoretical foundation for the construction of general education curriculum system in engineering colleges below;secondly,it surveys students,teachers,and enterprises through questionnaires,Grasp the demands of stakeholders in general education and understand what kind of general education they need.According to the elements of the curriculum system,it puts forward the curriculum concept,curriculum objectives,curriculum structure,curriculum content,curriculum activity methods and curriculum evaluation applicable to general education in engineering colleges under the background of new engineering disciplines.Then,the structure of the general education curriculum system in engineering colleges is extracted from the above content.In order to verify the feasibility of the framework model of the general education curriculum system in engineering colleges,a structured interview was conducted with three higher education curriculum experts.On this basis,the implementation effect prediction and improvement analysis of the model were carried out,and implementation suggestions were put forward.In summary,this model is more innovative,more focused,scientific,feasible,and effective,and has certain reference significance for the future reform of general education courses in engineering colleges.
