With the vigorous development of the second feminist movement in the west since 1960 s,many feminist schools came into being in this context. Each feminist school has constructed a theoretical framework to analyze the oppression of women according to its own goals and demands.Jaggar pointed out that the analysis of women's issues in various feminist schools has its own shortcomings,or more important than class analysis,or more important than gender analysis. To this end,Jaggar proposed different analytical concepts. She believes that alienation is a powerful concept, which can accommodate the profound insights of marxist feminism, radical feminism and even liberal feminism,so as to provide a more appropriate theoretical framework for the systematic analysis of the oppression of women.Jaggar pointed out that, compared with other analytical concepts, alienation analysis can reveal the current situation of female oppression in the most comprehensive way, provide a unified conceptual framework for understanding the multiple characteristics of contemporary female oppression, and possibly provide theoretical guidance for how to eliminate such oppression.Jaggar pointed out that the oppression of women in the capitalist system is universal, and the manifestation of the oppression of women is that women are in a state of alienation, from the public sphere to the private sphere and even the field of consciousness. The root cause of female alienation lies in the dual oppression of capitalist system and patriarchy. Both of these two kinds of oppression work together, and the elimination of only one system cannot end the oppression of women completely. The complete liberation of women needs to change the traditional mode of social production and organization and completely eliminate the weak temperament of women. To this end,Jaggar put forward specific solutions: to achieve reproductive freedom,to safeguard the rights of women in the field of wage labor,to establish independent women's organizations,to promote women's collective awareness.Jaggar's theory of female alienation is based on Marx's theory of alienation. On the one hand,it draws lessons from the core thought of Marx's theory of alienation, which enlighten the construction of female alienation theory from three aspects: the manifestation, the root and the elimination of alienation. On the other hand,Jaggar made a gendered supplement to Marx's theory of alienation, reinterpreted and expanded Marx's theory of alienation from the aspects of research field, research perspective and the exploration of the way to eliminate alienation, and put forward a unique theory of female alienation.By analyzing the phenomenon of female alienation in various fields,Jaggar reveals the comprehensive oppressed living situation of women and constructs a new theoretical framework for analyzing the oppressed situation of women, thus deepening his criticism of the capitalist patriarchy. However, there are some shortcomings in Jaggar's theory of female alienation.Due to excessive attention to the negative experience of female alienation, thediversity of female experience is neglected.Ignoring the role of men in the process of women's liberation, the status of men are underrated. At the same time, there is a certain degree of misreading of Marx's theory of alienation. However,Jaggar's theory of female alienation can still provide some theoretical guidance for analyzing and trying to solve similar practical dilemmas in our modern society due to its unique theoretical analysis perspective.
