Gaussian function,which belongs to the category of functions,could be regarded as a type of knowledge of integral function in the research scope of Number theory.The attribute of Gaussian function makes it have a concise knowledge system,flexible and variable solving methods,and rich mathematical connotation.The study of Gaussian functions can cultivate students' mathematical operation ability and logical reasoning ability.In addition,the simple knowledge of the Gaussian function has been integrated with primary and secondary school textbooks.In elementary school,the Gaussian function is compared with integral function,and the Gaussian function is combined with fractions,trigonometric,functions,sets,series and so on in the middle school,improving the comprehensive application ability of students.However,Gaussian functions are more active in mathematical competitions at home and abroad.Why is Gaussian function worthy of propositions? What is the educational value behind mathematical problems of Gaussian functions and how to realize its educational value through teaching?In this paper,the educational value of Gaussian functionsbehind mathematical problem is explored.For example,it is beneficial to teaching students based on their features,one problem with multiple solutions,pedagogy of variation,mutual conversion between equality and inequality.Firstly,based on the MPCK theory,the teaching methods of new teachers and expert teachers is compared and analyzed by using the test questions of Gaussian functions to determine the realization of educational value.Then,attribution analysis is carried out,and the author optimizes the teaching design of the Gaussian function according to the analysis results,putting forward suggestions to teachers.There are two main innovations in the this paper,one is to take the educational value of the Gaussian function to the student's life and personal growth,not only confined to the single subject study of mathematics.The second is to combine MPCK with the specific subject of the Gaussian function in the competition,exploring how to use MPCK to improve teaching in specific subjects.Documentation analysis,interview method,classroom observation method,and case study method is adopted in present work.From above two problems,the corresponding conclusions are drawn as follows.Firstly,the difficulty stratification of the Gaussian function helps to cultivatecould cultivate students' rigorous and meticulous attitude in doing things,and the ways of one problem with multiple solutions allows students to experience the diversity for solving problems.Secondly,the author put forward some suggestions.For example,more attention should be paid to innovation of teaching design,and teaching methods should be flexible and diverse,focusing on questioning,inspiration,the penetration of mathematical ideas and so on.
