Study On The College Students' Conspicuous Consumption Tendency And Its Group Intervention

Abstract/Summary:
Conspicuous consumption refers to the behavior of individuals who deliberately display their personal value and uniqueness to others through the consumption of commodities with conspicuous meanings,so as to gain others' respect and attention,satisfy their vanity and gain social recognition.At present,there are few researches on college students' conspicuous consumption in China,and they mainly focus on the research of conspicuous consumption motivation,influencing factors,influencing effects,etc.,while the intervention research on conspicuous consumption is almost blank.Based on the research of domestic and foreign scholars,this paper focuses on the characteristics of college students' conspicuous consumption tendency and conducts intervention research.Firstly,the questionnaire survey method was adopted to measure the conspicuous consumption tendency of 360 college students,and a total of 332 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS18.0 data analysis software was used to carry out independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance on the collected effective data,so as to understand the status quo of college students' conspicuous consumption tendency.Secondly,20 college students with conspicuous consumption tendency were interviewed,and the interview contents were coded to analyze the causes of their conspicuous consumption tendency.Finally,combining with the questionnaire and interview results group guidance scheme design,based on the analysis of causes for the problems found to intervene,to 24 have conspicuous consumption tendency of college students were divided into experimental group and control group for group counseling,mentoring the tendency of conspicuous consumption data before and after contrast,as well as the participants subjective feeling,the analysis summary to its intervention effect.The conclusion is as follows:(1)The conspicuous consumption tendency of college students is above the middle level,that is,college students have the conspicuous consumption tendency.(2)There are significant differences in college students' tendency to conspicuous consumption in grades,but there are no significant differences in gender,place of origin,one-child or not,major and average monthly income of families.(3)After intervention,the conspicuous consumption tendency of students in the experimental group decreased significantly,while that in the control group did not change significantly.Group counseling could effectively reduce the conspicuous consumption tendency of students in the group.(4)After one month,the follow-up test on the experimental group students found that there was no significant difference between the tendency to conspicuous consumption after intervention and the tendency to conspicuous consumption in the follow-up test,indicating that the intervention effect was persistent.
