Research On The Emotional Awakening Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers From The Perspective Of Life Course

In recent years,with the emergence of inter generational replacement of migrant workers,the new generation of migrant workers began to receive more and more attention from the government and academia.In the field of sociology,the existing researches on the new generation of migrant workers have achieved fruitful results,which can be roughly summed up as four aspects: group characteristics,urban integration,mental health and social identity.But in the existing research,the emotional problems of the new generation of migrant workers have not been paid enough attention.From the perspective of life course,this paper explores the emotional awakening of the new generation of migrant workers by means of qualitative research,discusses how the emotion of the new generation of migrant workers is awakened in their life course,and how the awakened emotion will affect the new generation of migrant workers and even the society.In this process,first of all,combining the theoretical viewpoints of Elder paradigm and Kohli paradigm in the life course theory,this paper divides the life course of the new generation of migrant workers into three life stages: "early life","far away from home" and "starting a family".Second,by combing the life course of the interviewees so far,this paper discusses the awakening process of four basic emotions summarized by Turner in different life stages: sadness,fear,anger and happiness.Thirdly,based on the summary of the awakening process of basic emotions,this paper analyzes the total life process as "life in a certain time and space" under the influence of three space-time circumstances: space-time fracture,space-time discipline and space-time separation.Finally,combined with interview materials,this paper discusses how the positive and negative emotions of the new generation of migrant workers affect their individuals,organizations and the whole society.It is found that the emotional awakening of the new generation of migrant workers has realized the central transfer of "family-individual-new family" in the process of their growth.In the stage of "early life",they focus on the original family,in the stage of "far away from home",they focuson their living conditions in the city,and in the stage of "starting a family",they focus on the their own new family.The family structure changes,the disillusionment and reconstruction of ideal expectations and the dilemma of urban and rural identity play a key role in the awakening process of four basic emotions in each stage.Space-time fracture,space-time discipline and space-time separation are implicitly throughout all stages of the life process of the new generation of migrant workers,and affect the awakening of positive and negative emotions through the realization of expectation,the application of rewards and punishments,and the needs of transaction.
