The space-time pattern of life expectancy and regional economic effects have always been hot research topics in sociology, demography, geography and other disciplines.Since the 1990s,with the extensive intersection and integration of geography and economics, the study of the evolution process and evolution mechanism of population spatial pattern and demography in population geography and economic geography has been increasingly deepened. This study draws on human capital theory and endogenous economic growth theory, through theoretical deduction and empirical testing,in-depth analysis of the impact mechanism of life expectancy space-time pattern and its regional economic effects. The methodology of this study belongs to positivism.Based on classic theories and models, combined with empirical observation and induction of China's economic development characteristics, the classic model is expanded, and the theoretical mechanism is revealed through the model;standard theoretical methods and reliable data experimental hypotheses are used to obtain conclusions. The main content framework can be divided into 3 parts.First, based on the statistical analysis of the spatial pattern of life expectancy of the county population in China in 2000 and 2010,reveal the basic characteristics of the spatial pattern of life expectancy;secondly, the spatial autoregressive model is used to empirically analyze the process mechanism of the spatial pattern of life expectancy;finally, the investigation The impact of life expectancy on regional economic growth. The main conclusions of this study include the following three aspects.(1)From 2000 to 2010,the level of life expectancy in China has increased to a certain extent. The spatial distribution of life expectancy among counties presents a change characteristic of concentrated-discrete-dispersed agglomeration. The so-called change from concentration to decentralization refers to the gradual decrease in the inter-county distribution of life expectancy;the so-called discrete to agglomeration change refers to the gradual increase in the spatial autocorrelation of the inter-county distribution of life expectancy, and the life expectancy levels are similar. The approaching phenomenon is becoming increasingly apparent.Overall, although the inter-county differences in life expectancy in China have tended to narrow, the high-value areas of life expectancy are mainly concentrated in the eastern coastal areas with narrow and long strips distributed from Guangxi to the Northeast Plain. The spatial autocorrelation of the inter-county distribution of life expectancy in 2000 was low.The Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, the Bohai Rim Economic Zone and its surrounding counties and regions became prominent national high-value life expectancy agglomeration areas. The degree of autocorrelation gradually increased, and the high-value agglomeration area expanded and increased.By 2010,the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Rim Economic Zone and the entire eastern coastal area extending to the surrounding areas have become high-value gathering areas of life expectancy in the country, and the six central provinces have become second-level high-life expectancy gathering areas.County districts, especially the southwestern and northwestern marginal areas, are the outer areas of the nation's life expectancy spatial pattern.(2)Life expectancy is closely related to the natural environment and social and economic conditions. In terms of physical geography, the average altitude is negatively correlated with life expectancy. The correlation between annual average precipitation and life expectancy has a decreasing trend. The annual average temperature and forest coverage have little effect on the life expectancy level. The regression coefficient of annual average wind speed Both are positive, indicating that proper wind speed is beneficial to the health of the average person. In terms of human geography, per capita GDP,average years of education, and number of health beds have a positive correlation with life expectancy in both years. The higher the degree of economic development, people's disposable income will increase accordingly, people will pay more attention to their own health and pursue a better spiritual life.In areas with a high degree of economic development, medical and health resources and education resources will also be more advanced, which can better protect people's health.(3)Life expectancy extension is beneficial to regional economic development. After controlling for factors such as average labor capital investment, average years of education, labor participation rate, urbanization rate, etc.,it is found that life expectancy has a significant positive effect on labor productivity. That is,the increase in life expectancy is conducive to promoting regional economic growth.
