With the development of cognitive research,the limitations of cognitivism become more and more obvious.The criticism of traditional cognitivism makes researchers pay more and more attention to embodied thought.Unlike traditional cognitive science,embodied cognition emphasizes the role of the body and the environment in the cognitive process,and the brain is no longer the only organ that produces cognition.This study is a breakthrough in the combination of body and discourse reading.From the perspective of body metaphor,the author studied the influence of body in the expanded and curled posture on junior school students' discourse comprehension and creative reading.In Study 1,subjects were asked to adopt different body postures when reading text materials to investigate the influence of expanding and curling body postures on reading comprehension and creative reading;in Study 2,the influence of different body postures on reading comprehension and creative reading under dual body(i.e.body operation in both learning stage and answering stage)was investigated.Furthermore,the effects of single body and dual body on discourse comprehension and creative reading are compared.At the same time,the variable of interoception was added in the third study.We measured the subjects' interoception through the body consciousness questionnaire and explored the influence of interoception on the embodied effect.Combining the results of three studies:(1)In the process of reading,the body posture of curling can significantly promote the processing of text details,while the body posture of expanding can not significantly promote the overall understanding of text.(2)Whether single body or dual body,the use of reverse body inconsistent with the type of question will make the subjects' response time on the corresponding question longer,indicating that the reverse body will hinder the understanding of the meaning of the text.(3)In the learning stage,the open body posture is conducive to the completion of the creative reading task.However,if the body posture is still maintained during the creative activities,it will hinder the reading creativity of the subjects.(4)The effect of embodied operation is conditional and targeted.For the task of discourse comprehension,the effect of dual embodiment is better than that of single embodiment.For creative tasks,single body is better than dual body.(5)Interoception is a potential regulator of embodied cognition.In this study,interoception can significantly regulate the influence of embodied operation on the accuracy of detailed questions,the response time of overall questions and the fluency of thinking.
