In the contextualization of international education,the comparison of full-English coursebooks is the most effective method of studying teaching materials.This passage,from the perspectives of an experienced teacher in the field of international education,has compared two full-English physics coursebooks for secondary school,which features the English educational style.Base on analysis of established cases,documents,and statistics,we have researched on these two materials-Cambridge IGCSE(?)Physics Coursebook(Second edition)published by the Cambridge University,and Complete Physics for Cambridge IGCSE(?)(Third edition)published by the Oxford University.Primarily,we are focused on the advantages and disadvantages among the structure,presentation,and content;furthermore,correlation and coherence to the new IGCSE syllabus with these two coursebooks have been unveiled in a creative way,in order to better serve for teachers and test takers.Through deep comparison,we have found that these two coursebooks have focused on the interest of the students,and have passed on the characteristics of English education and the intrinsic value of physics.The Cambridge course book is more systematic and holistic,focuses on the safety and regulations when doing experiments,while the Oxford coursebook focuses on the summarization and application of the knowledge,uses pictures and well-designed articles to motivate the student.However,we need to point out,these two full-English physics coursebooks still have many drawbacks.For example,these two materials haven't followed the IGCSE syllabus accurately,the knowledge involved isn't profound,and the language used isn't precise This passage also provides the relevant comments and suggestions.When we use foreign education materials as references,we should also notice their drawbacks,such as the possibilities of impeding the teachers' teaching and the hindering the growth of the students' thinking ability.We should learn the flexibility and interest from foreign education materials while approving our own teaching materials which makes science borderless.
