Football education is not only an important part of physical education,but also a significant method to cultivate a large number of football talents and develop quality-oriented education.According to the latest documents,"The overall plan of Chinese football reform and development"(No.11 document of NDRC[2015])and"Implementation opinions on accelerating the development of campus football"(No.6 document of MOE[2015]),MOE put the further reform of football education as one of the key development tasks to better perform the educational function of campus football.In order to better realize the national strategic goal of developing campus football,MOE has set up some special schools with features in campus football.The department want to achieve the educational function through this measure,which means football education would be used as the main means.This paper will use the questionnaire method,literature review method,field investigation,statistics and comparative analysis method to compare the current development of football teaching in two places,Xiang Yang and Xin Yu.According to the situation,this survey was conducted in six schools which were selected from two elementary schools,two secondary schools and two high schools in two places respectively.And such conclusions can be made:(1)Both schools have insufficient understanding of the current situation of school football teaching in their respective areas,and the cognitive situation is contrary to the current situation of football teaching,which is quite different from the situation reflected by teachers.(2)There are some deficiencies in school management system,some "no service"guarantee phenomena,and insufficient investment restricts the development of football teaching in schools in both places.(3)Teachers in both places are mainly young teachers with undergraduate degrees,and the age structure in Xiang Yang is more balanced than that in Xin Yu.(4)There is a lack of special football teachers in both places,low level coaches and few training opportunities for non-football teachers;there is a low enthusiasm in teaching in both places,and most teachers are not optimistic about the development of football teaching in schools.(5)The students in the two places have a higher interest in football,and the school can meet the student's learning times;football teaching can have a positive impact on students;the students in the two places are more satisfied with football lessons,but a small number of students do not like football lessons.(6)There are no specific plans for football teaching in the teaching objectives formulated by schools in both places;the teaching contents in each stage are not properly arranged;the teaching methods are lack of innovation,and the so-called "characteristic"teaching is not formed.(7)The present situation of football teaching in the two places can basically meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education for schools with campus football characteristics,but the development direction of the two places is mostly to develop competition and campus football culture,ignoring the development of football teaching.
