Shen Qiwei's middle school history education thought mainly established in the 1940 s,developed in the 1960 s,and formed in the 1980 s.He was engaged in middle school history teaching in the first half of his life,and in the second half of his life,he was devoted to middle school history teaching research.At the same time,he always pays close attention to the development of national history teaching.He has published his own opinions on the role,learning methods and teaching methods of history education,and the compilation of middle school history textbooks.For his middle school history education thought,the theory and practice are closely combined,which not only has its own characteristics of the times,but also adapts to the construction of socialist modernization.Whether engaged in the front line of middle school history teaching or engaged in middle school history education research,Shen Qiwei attaches great importance to the function of historical patriotism education.He believes that middle school history education plays an important role in middle school teaching.It can directly help young people cultivate patriotic thoughts and feelings,enrich their minds with historical knowledge,accept past experience and lessons for reference and inspiration,and stimulate motivation.In addition,it can help middle school students to establish a historical materialist view of history,master scientific methodologies,improve thinking skills,and cultivate non-intelligent factors.It occupies an important position in the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.In terms of middle school history teaching methods,he believes that history teachers should be clear about their responsibility for the rise and fall of the world.Not only must they have profound knowledge,but also require history teachers to use their own methods,not to be constrained by fixed models,to guide students to be good at thinking,and to focus on training students' native land emotion.In terms of history learning methods,he pays attention to the cultivation of students' historical discipline quality and thinking ability,and develops students' intelligence.At the same time,he believes that history textbooks should attract the students' interest.Therefore,when doing the compilation of middle school history textbooks,he focuses on its rich and vivid contents,and changes the traditional practice question type of each chapter.In short,Shen Qiwei's middle school history education thought is not only rich and comprehensive,but also reflects the new curriculum “student as the main body” of the educational concept,forming a unique middle school history education thought system.Shen Qiwei's middle school history education thought is closely connected with current history education issues.And it stands at the forefront of the times and meets the requirements of the times,which is of great significance to the development and reform of history education in middle schools.
