The employment of college students has always been the focus of social concern.However,due to the obstacles of restrictive factors,college students cannot freely choose their favorite career when they are faced with the choice of career after graduation.Work volition refers to the ability of an individual to make career choices despite constraints.It has important influence on individual's career choice.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the influencing factors of work volition.In this study,400 college students from five universities in henan province were surveyed by means of the socioeconomic status questionnaire,work possible selves scale and work volition scale.To investigates the influence of college students' socioeconomic status and work possible selves on their work volition,and the moderating effect of gender.The following results are obtained:(1)There were significant differences in the restriction level of college students' work volition in whether they were the only child,place of origin and grade,but not significant differences in gender,subject and specialty.There is a significant difference in the level of college students' volition in gender,but there is no significant difference in whether they are the only child,grade,place of origin,and subject.(2)There was a significant negative correlation between socioeconomic status and restriction,and a significant positive correlation between socioeconomic status and volition.There was a significant negative correlation between hoped work selves and restriction,a significant negative correlation between expected work selves and restriction,and a significant positive correlation between feared work selves and restriction.There was a significant positive correlation between hoped work selves and volition,a significant positive correlation between expected work selves and volition,and an insignificant low correlation between feared work selves and volition.(3)Gender plays a moderating role in the relationship between college students' socioeconomic status and theirvolition.The positive relationship between socioeconomic status and volition was stronger in boys than in girls.Gender plays a moderating role in college students' hoped work selves and restriction,which is manifested as that the negative relationship between male students' hoped work selves and restriction is stronger than that of female students.Gender plays a moderating role in college students' expected work selves and restriction,which is manifested as that the negative relationship between male students' expected work selves and restriction is stronger than that of female students.
