Research On The Factors Affecting The Export Competitiveness Of China's Higher Education Service Trade

The content of this paper is one of the most important aspects of service trade,namely education service trade.With the frequent flow of international students,the export competitiveness of education service trade in various countries is not balanced.Compared with developed countries,China's higher education service trade still has a large trade deficit.Therefore,from the perspective of push-pull theory,this paper adopts the method of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis,selects the corresponding competitiveness indicators,measures the influencing factors of export competitiveness of China's higher education service trade,and studies the influence of different factors on the choice of foreign students in China.In order to find out the reasons why the export competitiveness of China's higher education service trade is insufficient,and then put forward the methods to improve the export competitiveness of education.The results show that:(1)China's total import and export volume and the percentage of government expenditure on education in GDP are the two indicators that have the highest correlation with the competitiveness of China's education export,which indicates that China needs to increase economic and trade exchanges with other countries and increase investment in education,thus significantly improving the competitiveness of China's higher education service export.(2)In the study based on the number of foreign students in China as an indicator,the factors of thrust,GDP per capita and enrollment rate of higher education in all countries have a positive effect on the number of foreign students in China.In terms of pulling force,geographical distance significantly inhibits the growth of the number of foreign students coming to China,and the total import and export volume of China and educational assistance significantly promote the increase of the number of foreign students coming to China.(3)In the research based on Confucius Institutes as the measurement index,the factors of thrust,exchange rate,unemployment rate and the percentage of total government education expenditure to GDP significantly inhibit the establishment of Confucius Institutes,while the enrollment rate of higher education significantly promotes the establishment of Confucius Institutes.Geographical distance and cultural distance inhibit the establishment of Confucius Institutes,while the total import and export volume of China and education assistance will significantly promote the establishment of Confucius Institutes.According to the previous research,this paper puts forward the following suggestions on how to improve the export competitiveness of China's higher education service trade from two aspects: 1.Pushing force:(1)vigorously developing the economy and increasing per capita GDP;(2)guaranteeing the enrollment rate of universities and expanding the investment in education;(2)Pulling force:(1)building characteristic Confucius Institutes to promote Chinese culture to the world?(2)Strengthen trade with other countries and increase China's total import and export volume with other countries.The innovations and contributions of this paper are as follows: firstly,most of the existing literature studies service trade from the perspective of finance,transportation and other fields;secondly,from the perspective of education export,this paper tries to contribute to the study of our country's export of education service trade;secondly,on the basis of using competitiveness indicators to measure,this paper continues to use the number of foreign students in China and Confucius Institute as research indicators.Third,this paper takes "push-pull theory" as the theoretical framework of the full text,and studies the factors influencing the choice of foreign students in China from two aspects of thrust and pull,which is helpful to put forward more targeted countermeasures to improve the competitiveness of China's higher education service export,and has important reference value for practice.Value.
