Trust is a hot issue in the study of psychology and sociology today. It is a necessary coordination mechanism in various organizational environments. Many studies have long emphasized the positive impact of trust. However,if the trust is not used in the right place, the trust will also be dysfunctional and have a negative impact. Therefore, accurately applying trust to a variety of social organization environments is especially important for a high-quality job. However, the exploration of context predictors of trust accuracy is very limited.Although many studies focus on trait level predictors when exploring interpersonal trust phenomena, such as the individual's generalized trust propensity or victim sensitivity, there are few factors that help individuals make accurate swift trust decisions(neither use trust In people who are not trustworthy, they are not restrained in places they should trust). Therefore, this study aims to explore the impact of brief interpersonal contact on the accuracy of swift trust decisions.Using the simulated scenario experiment method,a college student in Northwest China is used as the research object.Through three experiments,it is explored whether short interpersonal interaction can affect the accuracy of trust and how it affects. The first study(Experiment 1)explored whether face-to-face brief interpersonal contact has an impact on trust accuracy;the second experiment(Experiment 2)explores on the basis of Experiment 1 why face-to-face brief interpersonal contact will be trustworthy. The impact is not because the self-other overlap plays a mediating role;the third experiment is based on Experiment1 and Experiment 2,which expands the influence of different types of interpersonal interaction on self-others overlap and trust accuracy. The results show that:(1)Face-to-face brief interpersonal interactions are significantly positively correlated with the accuracy of swift trust.(2)Face-to-face brief interpersonal interactions have an impact on self-other overlap, which in turn affects the accuracy of swift trust.Therefore,self-other overlap plays a partial intermediary role in face-to-face brief interpersonal interaction and swift trust accuracy.(3)Among different types of interpersonal interactions, verbal communication has the greatest impact on self-others overlap and swift trustaccuracy. The interpersonal communication of verbal cues is better than the interpersonal communication of visual cues in the accuracy of swift trust. The interpersonal communication of verbal cues increases the overlap of self-others,and thus improves the accuracy of swift trust. Therefore, before individuals make quick trust decisions, use verbal contact as much as possible to accurately judge whether the other party is trustworthy by improving the self-other overlap. Therefore, through the discussion of the research results, the researchers found that the increase of trust accuracy can be achieved by the improvement of self-otherness overlap through short interpersonal contact. It can help individuals to make more accurate trust decisions, thus helping individuals to complete social work efficiently and accurately, and to some extent alleviate the negative impact of inaccurate trust on life and work.
