Study On The Relationship Between Self-Compassion And Negative Emotion Of College Students

College students are subject to study pressure,emotional problems,employment problems and so on,they are often vulnerable to bad mood.The study mainly discusses the relationship between self-compassion and negative emotion in college students in order to find new ways to relieve the negative emotions of college students,and the negative emotions mainly focus on anxiety and depression.Study 1 was conducted on 189 undergraduates of Hunan Normal University in order to investigate the overall situation of self-compassion and negative emotion in college students and their relationship between them,because self-esteem is closely related to both of them,it is also included in the analysis.The results showed that the self-compassion of college students was in the middle level,and there was no significant difference in gender,grade and major;The anxiety and depression of college students were all within the normal range(standard score<50),and there was no significant difference in gender,grade and major;Self-compassion,self-esteem and negative emotions exists significant negative correlation;Self-compassion with anxiety(R= 0.483)and depression(R = 0.594)correlation coefficient is better than self-esteem and anxiety(R=0.418)and depression(R= 0.513)correlation coefficient,and also there was a significant positive correlation between self-esteem and self-compassion(R=0.647).Study 2 was conducted on 81 college female students in liberal arts of Hengyang Normal University,this study control level of self-esteem,and through the failure scenario induced subjects of negative emotions to continue to explore self-compassion mitigation effect of negative emotions,in order to increase the ecological effect of this study.The results show that the failure scenario design can successfully induce negative emotion of participants;There was a significant negative correlation between self-compassion and baseline negative emotion,induced negative emotion and negative emotion of change (T2-T1);According to self-compassion score,divides the self-compassion into low self-compassion group,moderate self-compassion group and high self-compassion group,analysis results show that baseline negative emotion,induced and changing negative emotion of the low self-compassion were all significantly higher than those of the moderate self-compassion group and high self-compassion group.
