Since the 18th CPC National Congress,the problem of reading has been repeated many times,and children's reading is a fundamental of reading for all.After being a student,school libraries are increasingly important to cultivate reading skills and habits.If schools can combine the library skills course with reading guidance,it would be helpful for students to use the library effectively.Because of this,some researchers proposed the teacher-librarian project.The study aims to provide China mainland with a teacher-librarian project which built on the basis of good practices,to solve the problems of reading promotion in Chinese primary and secondary school,to analyze the teacher?librarian project of Taiwan,and to propose suggestions to reading promotion in China.At first,this paper introduced the background of the school libraries in China mainland,and summed up the problem of reading promotion that can be listed as follows:institutional deficiencies;lacking of money;poor infrastructure;regional inequality;professional libraries shortage;backward management and shortage of shared resource.Then,based on the current situation,the paper demonstrated that such project is necessary and feasible.Under the guidance of people-oriented,equality,and development,this paper constructed a teacher-librarian project to China mainland,as well as its priorities and sustainable development strategies.After that,The paper gave a detailed record of teacher-librarian project in Taiwan,and took Taichunsg Municipal Da-Dun Junior High School as an example.Through analyzing the actual situation of primary and secondary school,the paper hope to provide experiences to the implement of teacher-librarian project in China mainland.
