An Analysis Of Internet Rumors Self-purification Function In Sudden Public Events In New Media Era

Our country is in the period of social transition,the rapid economic development has spawned various environmental emergencies frequently,pPlus people ontinue to enhance the awareness of environmental protection,there have been some influential environmental group events in recent years.Because of wide influence and great influence,these sudden environmental events is provided an opportunity for the spread of rumors.But the Internet itself has self purification ability to suppress and dispel rumors.From a large number of environmental emergencies matters,I have divided these matters into two discourse system:scientific facts system and interests Discourse System.Therefore,based on different characteristics of environmental emergencies in rumors,two case studies were selected:rob salt event and Maoming PX event.In the comparative analysis of the two discourse systems,I find the positive and negative factors in self purification of the environmental emergencies in rumors.The positive factors:include participation scale,diversity patterns,authoritative information.Negative factors include their own interests relevance,resentment emotions,negative cultural environment.The essence of self purification function is Butterfly Effect under the Anti-Spiral of Silence theory.On this basis,I propose four measures to guide the self purification function,first,actively introducing objective,sane third-party statements;secondly,using scientific facts break rumor;and third,smoothing channels for expressing public opinion and grooming mood;fourth,the government should actively seek a reasonable balance between rumors governance and freedom of speech,to create a healthy and orderly new media environment.
