Language is one of the five major areas of kindergarten education.The language development of young children is an important part of the overall development of young children.As a part of language learning,second language learning has attracted the attention of people from all walks of life.The second language learning in early childhood emphasizes “being heard before,reading and writing”,using the target language as a tool for learning and communication,and cultivating children's interest and enthusiasm for using a second language.Based on the theoretical basis of the characteristics of early childhood language learning and the key period hypothesis of language acquisition,immersion teaching emphasizes high concentration of language input and creating a relaxed and pleasant language environment and stimulating children's interest in learning.The research perspective of this study is the situation and characteristics of the development of second language for large class children in immersion activities.Based on the relevant research status and theoretical basis at home and abroad,this study takes a large class of an international kindergarten in Chongqing as the research object,and conducts a six-month longitudinal tracking observation of its immersed activities.The statistical analysis activities used by teachers and young children.Vocabulary,sentence volume and average sentence length,using PreLAS-2(Children's Second Language Test Scale)to measure the second language level of children,combined with specific cases to analyze the characteristics of second language development in children's stages.Finally,this study selects a large class of a traditional bilingual kindergarten in the same district as a control class,and horizontally compares the same subject activities of the two classes.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The development of children's second language is phased and continuous;2.The literacy ability of children is significantly enhanced;3.The high concentration of language input by teachers is conducive to the language output of young children;4.Teachers emphasize that theuse of complete sentences is conducive to regulating the second language learning of young children.According to the research conclusions,this study proposes relevant teaching suggestions:1.Adopting effective teaching strategies.2.Creating a rich language environment.3.Enhancing teachers' professional professionalism.
