Character curriculum and citizenship curriculum are different,but they are closely contacted.Character curriculum aims at cultivating good character,focusing on the individual.Citizenship curriculum aims at cultivating good citizen,focusing on the nation.Each individual is related to society,as same as the private space and public space.Individual consciousness comes from social consciousness,social consciousness strengthens an individual’s cognition.Each individual has a private life as well as public life.Each individual has to do their own duties in the community,and the community has to protect individual rights.Character curriculum and citizenship curriculum are different in curriculum objective,curriculum form.At the same time,character curriculum and citizenship curriculum are inseparable.The content of the kinds of curriculum are similar,personal space and public space are unity,moral values and political value are complementary.Fusion of character curriculum and citizenship curriculum has been widely attention.Singapore cultivates good citizen based on good character,which offers a reference for the citizen curriculum in our country.Singapore’s Character and Citizenship Curriculum combine the dual goals of character curriculum and citizenship curriculum.Cultivate good character through core values.The curriculum sets up a moral standard for individuals,promotes moral cognition,improves moral emotion and guides moral behavior.Cultivating good citizens based on national identity.Singapore is a diverse society and national identity is the foundation of citizenship curriculums.In response to the dilemma of nationalidentity,the curriculum contents rationalize political governance,harmonize diverse societies,construct common history,strengthen national identity and cultivate public concepts.The curriculum combines seemingly separate curriculums on morality and citizenship to achieve a dual purpose.In terms of curriculum content,it is oriented by core values to promote the formation of individual moral standards.Encourage moral action,strive to transform core values into Shared Values,and enhance public awareness.In the curriculum scene,individuals are taken as the starting point and extended to families,schools,communities,countries and the world to facilitate the connection between individuals and the world.In the curriculum evaluation,the emphasis is on identity,interpersonal relationship,and choice,so as to promote an individual’s multiple identity identities and form rational moral cognition through reflection.In terms of curriculum orientation,emphasis should be laid on the cultivation of skills to promote the transformation of moral cognition into moral action.Based on family strengthening national consciousness,Singapore’s Character and Citizenship Curriculum is a treatment of civic virtue more and more private.Based on the real situation and multiple evaluations,the curriculum is conducive to changing the dilemma of disjointed knowledge and practice of virtue.Based on core values,the curriculum integrated character curriculum and citizenship curriculum,which helps the transformation of core values into Shared values.
