A Research On Cross-culture Adaptation Of International Students Studying In China

The improvement of the policy for international students studying in China brought opportunities to the development of international education.However,with the increasing of the number of international students,the daily management of international students in our country cause some problems.Among them,the crosscultural adaptation is one of the biggest problems.How to improve the ability of international students' cross-cultural adaptation becomes an important problem with theory and practice value.Through the questionnaire investigation and structured interview(the international students in one university),this paper conducted a thorough research to the international students studying in China at the W university.Based on conditions such as gender,age,area,student category,major,the degree of knowing China and the proficiency in Chinese,this research used average analysis,variance analysis and independent sample t-test to conduct correlation among the different conditions;analyzed the influence factors of the international students' cross-cultural adaptation and put forward to the reasonable countermeasures of improving the international students' cross-cultural adaptation.Research results show that the influence for the international students cross-cultural adaptation are language adaptation,psychological adaptation,learning adaptation,communication adaptation,living environment adaptation and social culture adaptation.In order to effectively improve international students' cross-cultural adaptation,this paper combined with related theories,conducted the following thinking: as for the national level,expand the recruitment channels;widen the channel of the scholarship,in order to promote international students' academic adaptation;as for the university level,development support plan,completes the students psychological counseling,enrich the forms of social interaction of students and improve teaching mode,to improve students teaching mode;as for the individual level,improve their Chinese level,strengthen the study of Chinese culture,promote openness and inclusiveness.
