In order to adapt the needs of students' individuality development,China has carried out the reform of high school curriculum and college entrance examination since 2004.Under the current selection system,a high school physics teacher often needs to teach both major and minor classes.There are significant differences in the abilities to learn physics,the bases of physics knowledge,and the interests of physics learning of students between these two classes.The main body of this thesis is that: a case study of differentiated instruction in German high school physics classroom based on classroom observation.Using the LICC classroom observation paradigm,which developed by the team of Professor Cui Yunhuo of East China Normal University,to observe the same topic physics lesson in the two classes in German H Gymnasium,one is physics major class and the other is physics minor class.Through the analysis of observation scales and classroom fragments to explore the use of differentiated instruction between two classes.Furthermore,two major classes and two minors are selected,we ask a total of 63 students to finish questionnaires to understand the students themselves and their views on differentiated instruction.Finally,a semi-structured interview is conducted with a teacher who teaches both two classes at the same time to understand the teachers' views on the differences between students and evaluation of their own teaching.In addition to the individual conclusions,the results of classroom observation,student questionnaires,and semi-structured interviews of teachers are also compared and analyzed.Through this method,common problems and hidden problems of mismatch in three investigations are found.Based on the results of various analyses,we can conclude the current status of differentiated instruction in German Gymnasium physics classes.Then,combined with China's national conditions,we also come up with the enlightenment of implementing differentiated instruction in high school classes in China.
