| The phenomenon of transnational marriage has become one of the hotspots of academic circles.Since the normalization of Sino-Vietnamese relations in the 1990 s,exchanges in the economic, cultural, and political fields between the two countries have become increasingly close, and the phenomenon of intermarriage between the two countries has become increasingly frequent.Previous studies have been subject to the modern national national geography to understand the cross-border marriage between China and Vietnam. It is believed that the cross-border marriage between China and Vietnam is the subject of marriage for the pursuit of economic interests. The influence of transnational marriage is mainly reflected in the negative aspect. There are risks that ignore historical and sociocultural foundations. From the national level to analyze the problems it brings and make relevant recommendations, the main research has not received enough attention. The author conducted a field survey of the Miao village on the Sino-Vietnamese border,Hejiawan,Funing County,Yunnan Province, and interviewed and participated in the observation to understand the living conditions of Vietnamese women married in the local area.By using the theory of marriage exchange and Bourdieu’s theory of marriage strategy, this paper analyses the transnational marriage in Hojiawan, and tries to understand the principle of reciprocity and the structure of marriage exchange in the space of history and ethnic culture. It also explores the causes of the formation of transnational marriage and the living conditions and coping strategies of Vietnamese women married into the local society in the new national context.Through the research,it is found that the phenomenon of intermarriage between transnational nationalities on the border between China and Vietnam is widespread and has a long history.Compared with other types of transnational marriage in border areas, the transnational marriage in Hojiawan has a long-term stability. The flow of women’s singularity is closely related to the history and politics of the two countries. He Jiawan’s transnational marriage is a marriage choice made in the traditional intermarriage circle in favor of oneself and family under the current situation of imbalance of gender ratio in the community and economic differences between the two countries, after weighing one’s own economic conditions.Although the same field of marriage is constantly changing in the background of the nation-state and the development of modernization, the essence of its marriage is still the internal marriage of transnational ethnic groups.Marriage exchange is common exchange, and reciprocity principle is indirect exchange relationship.By comparing the living conditions of local daughters-in-law and Vietnamese daughters-in-law,we can see that Vietnamese daughters-in-law are marginalized in the new environment.Vietnamese daughters-in-law in the marginalization suffer from different degrees of prejudice and preparedness in the family, community and the outside world. In order to quickly integrate into the new life,Vietnamese daughters-in-law adopt different strategies in their marriage to complete the transformation of identity and fight for family power, and actively expand the living space in the new national context. This study enriches the case study of cross-border marriage between China and Vietnam, and provides reference for the local government to formulate relevant policies. |
