Employment of college graduates has become a major concern of our government. With the employment situation becoming more and more severe and the employment competition becoming more and more fierce,it is particularly important to guide the career development of College graduates.Traditional career development theory generally considers people-job matching from a static point of view, and pays attention to guiding students to set career goals and make career planning,so as to help people reduce uncertainty in their career. This view of rational decision-making is often questioned by the reality. In recent years, many studies have shown that career decisions are not always the result of logical career decisions, because uncertainty can not be completely avoided in any situation.Traditional career theories that attempt to minimize the impact of contingencies are challenged. The impact of contingencies on career development has been paid more and more attention, which is a new direction in the field of career development guidance. However,at present, most domestic studies on contingencies only stay at the stage of empirical description, and empirical research is rare. This study can provide theoretical basis and research tools for the future study of contingencies by reflecting on the impact of contingencies on the career development of College graduates. It also has guiding significance for the career decision-making of college graduates in the face of contingencies. This paper takes the graduates of Tourism College of Hunan Normal University as the research object, and chooses them on the basis of the particularity of tourism management specialty. The degree of integration between these specialties is high.Graduates will face more diversified choices in their career and be affected by more incidents. The first step is to conduct semi-structured interviews with graduate representatives on career development incidents, collect key descriptions, code data and identify subjects through content analysis, and construct a conceptual model of the impact of incidents on College graduates' career development.Secondly, according to the conceptual model, the initial scale of the impact of career development incidents on college graduates is compiled. The preliminary scale is used for pre-investigation,and the data are analyzed by correlation analysis and factor analysis to form the revised scale and conceptual model. The third step is to collect data with the revised scale, test the reliability and validity of the scale, and use structural equation model software AMOS to do further confirmatory factor analysis of the preliminary model to analyze whether the structure of the model is stable and reliable,so as to determine the conceptual model and obtain the measurement tool of empirical research. Finally, the variance analysis is used to find the difference of the impact of different types of incidents on individuals with different characteristics, and the corresponding explanation is given.Based on the results of this study, the following enlightenments can be drawn: first,we should pay attention to the impact of incidents on career development;secondly,we should view career choices in a dynamic way;thirdly,we should pass the career transformation in a trial-and-error way;finally,we should pay attention to improving the ability of occupational individuals to seize opportunities. The innovation of this study is to construct a conceptual model of College graduates' career development contingencies, and to compile a scale of College graduates' career development contingencies. However, there are some deficiencies in this study.Future research will focus on improving the Occupational Development Contingency Scale and the conceptual model,as well as the correlation between contingency and personality traits and individual job well-being.
