The Influence And Teaching Suggestions Of Auxiliary Lines To Plane Geometry Learning In Junior High School

Plane geometry is the subject which can improve the students' ability of logical thinking and analyzing.It is hard for most students to learn it well.What upsets the students is how to add auxiliary lines to complex geometric figures.So how to use auxiliary lines to discover the beauty of plane geometry and how to teach the beauty of mathematics is a required teaching skill for the teachers.The students of primary schools and high schools focus on imagery thinking.Algebra is dull,so many students dislike maths.Auxiliary lines are visual.If the teachers take advantage of it,the students' enthusiasm of learning maths may be inspired.The paper studies the structure of junior high school plane geometry content,the method of mathematical thinking,learning requirements and functional analysis,and investigates the teaching of plane geometry.The results are as follows.Most students find it hard to learn plane geometry.They don't know the importance of structuring auxiliary lines.The teachers are fond of traditional teaching method.So the students' ability of structuring auxiliary lines to solve plane geometry problems needs to be improved.The significance of auxiliary lines has nothing to do with solving difficult questions,but to cultivate the students' interest of learning plane geometry.At first,the teachers should not teach difficult method of structuring auxiliary lines,but to impart entry – level idea.It's better to teach a man fishing than to give him fish.If not,it's just like making the rice shoots grow by pulling them up.The difficult mathematical questions kill the students' creativity and enthusiasm towards maths learning.Combining the existed questions with the author's personal teaching experience,the paper provides some methods about auxiliary lines teaching:1.Heuristic education;2.Bruner discovery teaching method;3.Diversity teaching method;4.Structural analysis method.
