Class identity is one of the important topics in the study of social stratification, which is an individual's perception of the status of their own class.Since Goldthorpe proposed the traditional view of the status of female classes,Western gender studies and feminists have begun to debate the issue of female's class identity extensively. At present,China is in a critical period of economic transformation and social change, the dual structure of urban and rural areas is obvious. The issue of female's class identity has undoubtedly become the most concerned topic among domestic gender stratification researchers, but the related empirical research is very few.Based on the survey data of the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)for the four periods from 2010 to 2015,this paper selects the class identity as the dependent variable, and empirically analyzes the class identity of female from the class status of their own and their spouse or father, and probes into the differences and influencing factors of urban and rural female class identity from the perspective of dual structure. The study found that,in general, the class identity of Chinese female is still basically dependent or traditional, which is manifested in the following three aspects:Firstly, the urban and rural unmarried female's class identity is dependent on their parents' class status, but their dependency does not exist significant urban-rural differences.Secondly, the married female in urban and rural areas regard the class status of their spouses as the main basis for their class identity, and the dependence of urban married female is more significant. The third is that the divorce or widowed female in urban and rural areas tend to make lower-level class identity than unmarried and married female, because they lost some resources originally obtained from their spouse class status, and the deviation of rural divorced or widowed female is more prominent. In addition, the relative sense of deprivation will significantly reduce the class identity of urban and rural female, and has a greater negative impact on urban female;intergenerational mobility can significantly improve the class identity of urban and rural female, and has a significant positive impact on the rural female;traditional gender perceptions will significantly improve the class identity of urban female, but in terms of rural female,it has not yet become a dominant variable affecting class identity.
