Frankfurt school of social criticism theory,founded in 1923,is a school of social philosophy and "western marxism".Developed in the 1930 s and early 1940 s by leading members of the Frankfurt institute for social research,lukacs,gramsci and kirsch are known for critical social theory.It is an academic community of social scientists,philosophers and cultural critics,centered on the "social research center" of the university of Frankfurt,Germany.Hochheimer,adorno,marcuse,habermas and others are the representatives of the Frankfurt school of social criticism,whose theoretical sources are mainly: Marx's theory of analyzing and criticizing capitalism,and more directly the theoretical successors of "western marxism" lukacs and others;At the same time,it is also influenced by many western philosophical trends such as Hegel,Kant,Freud and romanticism.Social critical theory of Frankfurt school,on the basis of Marx's critical theory,mainly through the technical rational criticism,criticism of mass culture,the respect such as the critique of ideology to reveal the malpractices of the existence of a capitalist society,such as socialalienation,deformity,socialist modernization construction of our country has important significance,at the same time of abuses in critique of capitalist society to the socialist modernization process provides a reference to avoid the same problem.This paper consists of seven parts: introduction,six chapters and conclusion.The first chapter is the introduction,which summarizes the background and significance of the subject selection of the Frankfurt school's social critical theory,analyzes the current research status at home and abroad,sorts out the research ideas and methods of this paper,and summarizes the innovation points and shortcomings of the paper.The second chapter is the text,which reveals the background of Frankfurt school's social criticism theory,including the realistic background and the theoretical basis.First,based on the social realistic background at that time,this paper analyzes the basis of the social critical theory of Frankfurt school.Secondly,it discusses the alienation theory of marxism and the social criticism theory,and points out the theoretical origin of Frankfurt school's social criticism theory.Chapter three analyzes the main contents of the critical theory of Frankfurt school.This chapter makes a concrete analysis of Frankfurt school's social critical theory from three modules: the critique of technical rationality,the critique of mass culture and the critique of ideology.The fourth chapter expounds the essential features of the Frankfurt school's social critical theory from the three dimensions,the universality and individuality of the criticism,and analyzes the changing characteristics of the Frankfurt school's social critical theory.The fifth chapter analyzes the positive achievements and limitations of the social critical theory of the Frankfurt school so as to have a comprehensive understanding of the social critical theory of the Frankfurt school.The sixth chapter reveals the theoretical and practical value of the social criticism of Frankfurt school,and highlights the guiding significance of the socialist modernization.
