In August 2016,the International Olympic Committee announced that rock climbing was officially included in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games,providing a strong driving force for rock climbing development worldwide.With rock climbing movement listed into competitive sports,current work mainly focuses on the promotion of rock climbing in school education and the construction of reserve talents.Early childhood is a crucial period for children's development of physical fitness and movement,during which the comprehensive development of physical quality is an important issue for school education as well as family and society.According to the results of national physique monitoring,the decline of primary school students' physique is an important cause of national physique decline.With the advancement of sunshine sports and diversified sports interventions,the physical fitness of primary school students has stopped falling and rebounded in recent years.Compared with traditional physical teaching mode(such as running and jumping),rock climbing is an interesting sport that integrates cognition,strength,flexibility,sensitivity and other physical qualities which can promote children's rich environment dependence on brain plasticity and central nervous system function.At the same time,it can well improve children's physical and motor development.The role of rock climbing in promoting brain health and physical fitness has been confirmed in both teaching process and fundamental research.Climbing is children's instinctive nature and an important means of promoting children's movement development.Besides,its benefit to children's physical health helps to promote the extensive education in schools.The mechanism of children's physical fitness may be related to the development of children's walking,running,jumping,casting and rough movements.This study takes the promotion of physical fitness as the starting point,explores the promotion effect of rock climbing exercise intervention on children's physical health,and reveals the possible mechanism of physical improvement from the perspective of action development theory.The 8 weeks of rock climbing exercise intervention covers physical strength factors such as strength,endurance,speed,flexibility and sensitivity.According to the age,physical and mental characteristics of children's movement development,the design and training content of rock climbing were based on the development of rough movements.Monitoring project and KTK gross motion assessment tool were applied to observe the impact of rock climbing intervention on children's physical and motor development.After 8 weeks of rock climbing intervention,climbing exercise significantly improved the physical fitness of the sitting body flexion,grasping power,1 minute skipping,50 m running,etc.The lung capacity was also improved,but it was not particularly significant.The development of children'sbackward balance,jumping,horizontal and vertical displacement has been significantly improved.8 weeks of rock climbing exercise intervention can significantly improve children's physical health,and its mechanism may be related to the promotion of the development of gross movements.8~9 years old is a sensitive period for the development of children's gross movements.During this period,the sensitivity of children's physical quality is not balanced.The promotion of rock climbing exercise for the development of large movements can improve children's weak quality and thus balance the overall physical quality.It lays a good foundation for the formation and improvement of complex sports skills,and provides a theoretical basis for the application of rock climbing to children's health promotion and teaching.According to the results of KTK evaluation,future research will focus on designing the content of personalized climbing course for the development of children and adolescents of different ages,observing the influence of climbing physical education intervention on children's comprehensive physical quality and motor skills.Besides,it provides a theoretical basis and scientific plan for applying rock climbing to promote children's physical health and school's teaching quality.
