Abstract/Summary:
There is a big gap in the quality of education between urban and rural areas in the United States,which has not been solved for a long time.However,with the enactment of no child left behind(NCLB)act in 2001,the us federal government said that "American public schools should develop students’ mind and develop students’ character regardless of region,family background and color",among which improving the quality of teachers is one of the main contents of NCLB act.However,rural teachers in the United States generally face the problem of low quality of teachers,which is a severe challenge to the implementation of NCLB.Therefore,since the end of the 20 th century,the United States began to implement a special program for rural teachers.The so-called teacher supplement is to train qualified rural teachers to be competent in teaching and improve the quality of teachers by starting with "quality" and "quantity".Plan to increase the number of full-time teachers and reduce the teaching burden on teachers.In a certain sense,the supplement of rural teachers is to attract more excellent talents to teach in rural areas,which includes the recruitment of teachers.Cultivate and retain multiple links.U.S.government mainly from the pre-service education,the employment education and in-service education of solve the problem of teachers supplement,before first in-service education stage,through the rural areas and with the method of training teachers in colleges and universities,choose the future from the countryside have intention to enter the university to study for the students who stay on the rural work,to develop rural oriented trainee program,after entering the university students to a fixed time to go back to the countryside school trainee,gradually understand teaching pattern in the countryside,finally develop specialized graduation standard to measure whether students can do a competent job on rural education.Secondly,in the induction education stage,the new teacher guidance plan should be implemented to enable teachers to understand all aspects of rural life and provide a good working atmosphere for new teachers.Thirdly,in the post-service education stage,the government appropriates funds to provide rural teachers with professional development opportunities,increase the communication between urban and rural teachers,provide opportunities for continuouslearning in vocational education,and formulate a performance appraisal system for teachers,which can increase their teaching enthusiasm and prevent the loss of rural teachers.China is also facing the problem of shortage of rural teachers,both in terms of quality and quantity,the supplement of rural teachers is the primary problem in the development of rural education in China.The supplementary research on rural teachers in the United States is quite thorough and comprehensive.Therefore,the supplementary plan for rural teachers in the United States can be used for reference in China.Therefore,this paper takes the supplemental strategy of rural primary and secondary school teachers in the United States as the research object,and discusses the background,content,implementation and effect of the supplemental strategy of rural teachers in the United States as well as the enlightenment to China.This paper studies the existing Chinese and foreign literatures,analyzes the contents of literatures,and summarizes the characteristics of literatures.On this basis,it mainly USES the literature method and comparative method to study the supplemental strategies for rural primary and secondary school teachers in the United States.On the basis of "the rural teachers supplement strategy implementation and experience,problem of rural teachers supplement in our country,the rural teachers supplement strategy enlightenment to our country" as the main research,hoping this study to our country rural teachers supplement strategy has a certain meaning,for our country rural teacher training,recruitment and retention,etc.To provide beneficial experience.
