The new curriculum reform puts emphasis on the development of students' core literacy,and explains in detail cultivating and developing the key abilities and essential qualities of students.Case teaching is a kind of teaching method which focuses on improving students' problem solving ability through discussion and analysis in specific problem situations.It is very in line with the concept of the new curriculum reform.The prerequisite for the success of case teaching is to develop corresponding teaching cases.However,in the field of basic chemistry education,teaching cases are very scarce.Therefore,this study takes the chemistry classroom teaching of Class X in Grade 9 of a middle school in Shaanxi as the research object.This study applied literature research method,action research,interview method,observation method,and carried out research on the development and application of teaching cases of "acidity and alkalinity of solution".In order to enrich the chemistry teaching case library,and provide the first-line chemistry teachers with theoretical reference and methodological guidance on development and application of teaching cases.The paper mainly includes six parts: preface,literature review,case development process,introduce the case of “acidity and alkalinity of solution ”,analysis of implementation results,conclusion.The first part,Preface,this paper discusses the necessity of this study,introduces the research background and the expected purpose of the study,and points out the significance of the study and the unique innovation of the study.Then it discusses the research content,research methods and research ideas.The second part,literature review,firstly,it clarifies the core concepts of case,teaching case,case teaching and teaching case development.Secondly,it briefly describes the research status of case teaching and case development and application in domestic and abroad.It clarifies that case development of chemistry teaching follows the principles of typicality,feasibility and participation.Finally,it expounds the theoretical framework of this study.The third part,case development process,on the basis of following the development principles,defines the specific steps of case development: " Understanding the developer of the case,presupposing the expected goal of the case,broadening the channels of case collection in many ways,case collection and compilation,using case to carry out classroom teaching,case modification and adjustment".The fourth part,introduce the case of "acidity and alkalinity of solution ",which is the key part of this paper.This paper summarizes and analyses the collected materials,clarifies the problems existing in the chemistry class of Class X,and puts forward the solution of using case teaching method to teach this class.Determine the elements of action research: research participants,reliability,tools used in research,research ethics,data collection plan,and action plan: develop teaching cases of this topic and apply them to practical teaching.The fifth part,analysis of implementation results,this paper analyses and evaluates the implementation effect of case teaching from the perspective of student participation and teaching goal achievement,and summarizes the shortcomings,which provides the direction for the next action research.The sixth part,conclusion,it is a reflection and summary of the study,summarizes the conclusions of the study,reflects on the limitations of research tools,and elaborates the direction that this study can discovered.
