Since 2001,compulsory education language curriculum standards have actively advocated and encouraged students to "read the whole book".Junior high school students are in a critical period of life development,the whole book reading can open up a broad cultural space for students.It plays a vital role in the establishment of students’ overall consciousness,the improvement of reading ability,the formation of good habits and the construction of the spiritual world.However,the whole book reading has little effect in practice,which is closely related to teachers’ unclear teaching direction,unclear teaching process,inappropriate teaching strategies and outdated evaluation methods.This paper takes junior high school students as the research object,through a series of empirical research methods,such as theoretical and questionnaire surveys,case analysis,and so on,aiming at exploring the guiding strategies of "whole book reading" by teachers,with a view to improving the current situation of students ‘whole book reading.This paper is divided into five chapters.The introduction part includes the background and significance of the study,the current situation of the study,the purpose and method of the study.The first chapter elaborates the relevant concepts and characteristics of "whole book reading" teaching for junior high school students.The second chapter clarifies the teaching basis of "whole book reading" for junior high school students from the aspects of curriculum standards,Chinese textbooks and students’ development.The third chapter investigates the current situation and problems of "whole book reading" among junior high school students.Chapter Four explores the teaching strategies of "whole book reading" for junior high school students in light of current problems.The first part clarifies the direction of teaching from the aspects ofcultivating good reading habits,improving comprehensive reading ability and enriching the spiritual world that can be explored in a planned way;the second part clarifies the teaching process from the aspects of reading guidance,reading promotion and presentation;the third part improves the teaching strategies from the aspects of literary and non-literary texts;and the fourth part improves the teaching strategies from the aspects of performance evaluation and summative evaluation.The price aspect has enriched the evaluation method.The fifth chapter focuses on the analysis of junior high school students "whole book reading" teaching cases.
