Federer has won the Australian Open in 2017 and 2018 for two consecutive years after his return. It is worth studying that Federer can achieve excellent results and good match condition in the competition.Throughout the change of Federer's technique and tactics, this paper chooses the technical and tactical characteristics of Federer's seven Championship matches in 2018 Australian Open as the research object, and explores the technical and tactical characteristics of Federer's championship. This paper makes a systematic analysis of Federer's tactics and techniques in seven matches by means of documentation, video observation, comparative analysis, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. It also makes a video statistical analysis of the tactical characteristics of Federer's techniques and tactics in the service stage, the reception stage, the Stalemate Stage and the physical factors in the matches. The factor of Federer winning the championship. To provide feasible training ideas for Chinese male tennis players and carry out targeted training.(1)In the service stage,Federer uses the flat-stroke serve with high speed and strength in the first serve, and the cutting serve with relatively slow speed and topspin serve in the second serve.Federer does not occupy an absolute advantage in the speed of the first serve and the second serve, but his success rate of the first serve and the number of ACE balls are higher than those of his opponents. In terms of tactics, the number of times the ball landed in the inner and outer corners is similar, which increases the difficulty of opponents' prediction and occupies an advantage in the service game. The third bat using forehand stroke has flexible Line-Changing ability and strong offensive strength.(2)In the receiving stage,Federer positioned forward to actively play the ascending ball. The proportion of the ascending ball was larger than that of the falling ball. The opponent's reaction time was reduced, the game rhythm was mastered, and the scoring rate of receiving the forehand position was higher than that of the backhand position.Because the physiological factors of forehand reception were more advantageous than backhand position.(3)In the phase of stalemate,Federer has no absolute advantage, the main score is from the short racket round, through the ability to change the line to open the angle of attack, using a variety of techniques such as smash, topspin, volley, etc.,to consume the physical strength of the opponent.Federer made many non-breakingmistakes in seven matches, but scored higher than his opponents in winning points.Physical energy consumption has an important impact on the play of techniques and tactics. When mistakes occur in the stalemate stage,he should adjust his mentality in time.(4)Active scoring of Internet attack.Federer's score rate of online attack is higher than that of his opponents, and the number of online attacks is also higher than that of his opponents.Federer's alternate use of the technique of attacking the net to hit the ascending ball and the descending ball can disrupt the opponent's tactical purpose and shorten the game time.(5)In seven matches,Federer can reduce the distance of movement by hitting the ascending ball, and consume less physical energy. The switching use of ascending and descending balls can control the rhythm of the game and break through the opponent's defense so as to win points and win the game.Federer's reasonable technical and tactical planning, each game moving distance and average moving distance per minute are less than the opponent, effectively compensate for Federer's physical weakness caused by age,a reasonable selection and daily physical training, which laid the foundation for Federer to play in the Australian Open.
