With the rapid development of computer era,information technology is rapidly popularized in the whole field of education,including the mathematics education,which was simply applied to display the teaching content in the classroom at the beginning.As the continuous development of information technology and related research,people have begun to think about how to integrate information technology and mathematics education better.According to the previous research,it is not difficult to find the application of information technology in the field of mathematics education in our country is mainly concentrated in the primary period,and less attention is paid to the application of information technology in the junior middle school stage,while the proportion of geometry in the junior middle school is lower.Based on the related researches and theory,this paper aims to explore the application of GeoGebra in geometry teaching of junior high school.GeoGebra,a teaching software,can not only create vivid learning atmosphere,but enrich teaching resources.Besides,it can offer opportunities for inquiry learning,as well as make mathematics teaching flexible,concrete and visual.Mostly important,students' understanding of the essence of mathematics and their comprehension of mathematical thinking and methods will be hopefully promoted.Based on the related researches and theory,this paper aims to explore the application of GeoGebra in geometry teaching of junior high school.Two classes from a local high school with similar levels were chosen to conduct a one-term experiment.Class one,served as the experimental class,applied GeoGebra during the classes.Class Three was the control class,using the traditional teaching method.Questionnaires and tests were adopted in the experiment.According to a detailed analysis of the data,the major findings can be concluded as follows:1.Comparing the scores of the two classes tested before and after the experiment,it is found that the scores which tested after the experiment are higher than that before.At the same time,the scores of the E Group are higher than those of the C Group.That is to say,comparing with traditional teaching method,to some extent,GeoGebra assisted teaching can promote students' understanding of geometry knowledge.2.The application of GeGebra is beneficial to the achieve the teaching objectives in related courses,which can also improve students' mathematics literacy in terms of space concept,geometric intuition and reasoning ability.3.The application of GeGebra in geometry teaching of junior high school has apositive effect on students' interest and attitudes.4.The application of GeoGebra in geometry teaching of junior high schools can not only promote students' understanding of geometry knowledge,but also improve teaching efficiency to some extent.Based on these results,the researcher believes that GeoGebra is an effective teaching assistant in geometry teaching for the first year students in junior high school.The study can provide new data on geometry teaching which researchers may use as reference in the following study on geometry teaching.What's more some teaching cases carried out by this study can serve as a practical guide for future geometry teaching,which can also make the paper valuable.
