Chemical calculations explain the composition of chemical substances and the laws of their changes from a quantitative point of view,it examine the comprehensive capabilities of students. Not only can chemical calculations deepen understanding of chemical knowledge, but they can also train computing skills. The computational problems in the PEP(Peoples Education Press)High School Chemistry Elective 4 have the characteristics of abstraction, complexity, and comprehensiveness, that leads students feel struggling and cluttering in solving problems in chemistry calculations. It is necessary to combine certain teaching strategies to assist teaching. This paper is based on schemata learning theory, constructivism theory, and blended learning theory. It is based on literature analysis, questionnaire survey, practice research, etc.,and solves the problems in current high school chemistry computational problems. The status of the teaching of the problem was investigated. The survey results show that most students are not very good at grasping the contents of the chemistry calculations in elective 4;teachers are confused about the teaching of chemistry calculations in elective 4 and then propose the following teaching strategies:(1)Using mind maps to build knowledge systems and solve computational problems;(2)Applying the normalization strategy to sort out the relationship and demonstrate the problem-solving ideas;(3)Organizing classification modeling to perform variant exercises and solve problem-solving skills skillfully;(4)Using the WeChat platform to demonstrate the experimental process and form a solution to the problem.Based on the above teaching strategies,we design teaching cases to conduct empirical studies and analyze and evaluate the teaching effects. The results are following: After applying the four teaching strategies developed in the chemistry teaching of High School Chemistry 4 Calculations, students’ problem solving concepts and computational capabilities have made significant progress. At the same time, improving students’ interest in learning chemistry calculations can greatly improve students’ chemistry performance and have a good teaching effect. Finally,we have the following conclusions:(1)We use the WeChat public platform to conduct teaching on the calculation of chemistry experiments. The video can visually display the experimental process and key data.It can inspire students’ interest in learning and enable students to memorize more profoundly.(2)The use of mind mapping to summarize the calculation method of chemical reaction heat can clearly present the logical relationship between different levels of content and cultivate students’ logical thinking ability, which is conducive to the construction of knowledge.(3)The normalization strategy was used to calculate the chemical reaction rate. After the students were trained in this method, the problem solving speed and accuracy were significantly improved.(4)In the teaching of chemical balance calculation, the method of organizing and classifying the model is used to carry out the practice of variant exercises to train the students.According to a certain knowledge system, the calculation problems are classified, and the problem-solving mode is established to help students understand memory and proficiency.
