Research On The Prevention And Response Of College Students’ Mass Emergencies Under New Circumstances

With the further development of reform and opening-up and the rapid growth of society,great changes have taken place in the internal and external environment of Chinese universities in recent years.Some university students may vent their dissatisfaction through excesses because of their own personal causes,the school’s mismanagement or social service problems,thus generating college students’ mass emergencies.Due to their rapid spread and great publicity,college students’ mass emergencies might affect other universities,which not only interferes with the normal teaching and living order,but also costs immense manpower,material and financial resources and threaten social stability.Therefore,the research on the prevention and response of college students’ mass emergencies is of certain practical significance.To prevent and deal with unexpected massive incidents of the group of college students,universities should make full use of relevant theories and methods of ideological and political education.Effective involving of ideological and political education into unexpected massive incidents will prompt the troubles to get better soon.Universities should focus on cultivating students’ norms of ideology and morality,social responsibility,national spirit and common ideals,deepen the understanding of students in respect of social responsibility and historical mission,and improve their ability to distinguish right from wrong,making every effort to prevent the incidents.However,ideological and political education is not a panacea.When dealing with unexpected massive incidents of the group of college students,administrators and educators in universities should face danger fearlessly and rationally,relieve and resolve conflicts positively,for minimizing the negative effects of the incidents.In the mean time,for learning form the experience and lessons,universities should analyze the integrated incident seriously.Based on Marxist human theory,this paper combines conflict theory,conformitytheory and attribution theory with typical cases,explores the causes of college students’ mass emergencies and analyzes their processes,and studies the prevention measures,treatment principles and methods.
