Research On The Compiling Characteristics Of "Task-based Learning" In Junior Middle School Mathematics Teaching Material Based On Problem Solving

Abstract/Summary:
Problem-solving ability has become one of the core competencies in 21 st century.The section of the "task-based learning " into the junior high school mathematics teaching material is a bright spot in the new curriculum reform of basic education in mathematics,which for the problem solving ability training provides a new way.How to improve the problem-solving ability by fully using "task-based learning" is to be solved in this paper.This study takes three typical versions of the junior high school mathematics teaching material,for examples,which respectively published by People’s Education Press,Beijing Normal University Publishing Group and East China Normal University Press.The features and laws of three versions in the contents of "task-based learning" were analyzed through using the research methods of literature analysis,comparative research and content analysis and comparing the contents of "task-based learning" and the presentation of the contents in the "problem-solving" ability,process and teaching three aspects.In addition,this paper explore the advantages and disadvantages of the three versions by interpreting the similarities and differences of them.Through research,we summarize the following points:1.To the content of "task-based learning",each version can meet the requirement of Math Course Standards with their comprehensiveness and openness.Besides,in the distribution of the content,People’s Education Press is less and Beijing Normal University Publishing Group is more compared with East China Normal University Press.2.In the aspects of "problem-solving" ability,these three versions highlight the cultivation of students’ practical ability.So that the contents of "task-based learning" in the cultivation of practical ability is much more.But,the cultivation of reasoning ability and reflection ability are lack of attention.Only Beijing Normal University Publishing Group have the corresponding contents of "task-based learning" while People’s Education Press and East China Normal University Press do not.3.In terms of "problem-solving" process,the three versions focus on the five processes of problem resolution: understanding,designing or selecting,implementing,reflection and evaluation.People’s Education Press,more emphasis on students’ implementation process of "problem-solving",namely given a complete solution to enable students to complete their own.However,Beijing Normal University Publishing Group and East China Normal University Press pay more attention to the process of designing or selecting,allow students to choose their own solutions,or design their own solutions to a problem.4.To the teaching of "problem-solving",the three versions have the corresponding teaching modes: "Chinese-style problem solving","problem-based" and "leading issues".People’s Education Press and Beijing Normal University Publishing Group tend to "leading issues" while the contents of "task-based learning" in East China Normal University Press are suitable for the use of "Chinese-style problem solving" teaching model.Overall,the three versions have made some successful attempts to embody the basic concepts of the Math Course Standards and made contribution to the reform of teaching materials.However,there are still some areas for improvement in these three versions.For this reason,the author tried to propose the following suggestions:(1)In terms of content preparation,the number of topics should be moderate,with one to two per term.On the other hand,in the selection of content,students should be trained in various aspects of problem-solving abilities instead of practical abilities.(2)In terms of teacher teaching,teachers should learn more and change their concepts.They must not only master local teaching methods,but also absorb foreign teaching concepts,expand their knowledge,change the teacher-student relationship and highlight the students’ subject status.They should also strengthen the guidance of student learning methods and improve the teaching evaluation methods.
