Xi Jinping emphasized at the national conference on ideological and political work of university that the ideological and political work should be carried out throughout the entire process of education and teaching,so as to open up a new situation in the development of China’s higher education.Education is a constant topic.Education is about the future of a country.College students are powerful reserve forces for social development in our country.College students’ ideological and political education work,including the fundamental problems of what kind of people are foster,how to cultivate people and for whom they are cultivated in universities.The ideological and political education in universities is essentially based on the work of being a human being,and the central link is Strengthening Morality.Undergraduates are a special social group,they have own thinking model,moral norms,and a relatively formed outlook on life,world outlook and values.Therefore,college students’ ideological and political education work should be carried out according to the thinking characteristics and cognitive model of college students.The emergence of conceptual metaphor subverts the traditional view of metaphor,which is not only a means of language expression,but also a cognitive model of human beings.Metaphor as a means of cognitive is used not only in English teaching but also in pedagogy,linguistics,psychology,psychotherapy and so on.According to the data reviewed,rare research results have been witnessed relating to education from the perspective of thinking with metaphor.Ideological and political education is based on a man,that is,the work of man’s thinking.The purpose of this paper is to do scientific,cognitive and targeted analysis of the ideological and political education of college students on the basis of conceptual metaphor theory with the characteristics of college students as a special group,as well as the characteristics of thinking and cognitive characteristics.With the continuous development and scientization of ideological and political education work,in fact,there are many metaphors in the language of the process of ideological and political education.As a powerful bridge between educator and educatee,metaphor can fundamentally promote the development of ideological and political educational work in colleges and universities,whether it is the language of communication,the process of thought transmission,or the formation of students’ cognitive thinking,all plays an indelible role.The study shows that metaphor plays a role in the constructive category,framed thoughts and persuasion of college students’ ideological and political education.This paper considering the insufficiency in previous research and comparing the current situation and problems of ideological and political education in college,systematically analyzes the ideological and political education of college students under the perspective of conceptual metaphors,explains the important role and influence of metaphors to college students’ ideological and political education and analyzes the influence of metaphors on ideological and political education promotion and the value to it.
