Since music education reform in our country,the music lesson of primary and secondary school has reformed and developed from curriculum view,education concept,teaching method and content,etc.sides to suitable the development requirement of new era.The reform is emphasized in diversification and autonomy of school music lesson extremely and encouraged to establish School-based courses or extracurricular societies according to own characteristic.During this period,the music extracurricular societies of our primary and secondary school has huge improvement.It's more and more varied in type and style.Because lesson standards and instructions are lacking and context difference between extracurricular societies and school courses,It has insufficient understanding and unclear object generally in education function.This article focuses on the educational function of extracurricular music societies in primary and secondary schools,guide by the theories of educational function,musical educational function and school music curriculum theory,etc.Based on the data analysis of three representative schools in Guiyang city,attempts to summarize the educational functions of extracurricular music societies from four aspects: individual function,social function,positive function and negative function.Aiming at the problems existing in current situation,propose the assumption of better realizing the educational function of the school music association.
