With the continuous warming up of “Chinese language fever” in the world and the promotion of the Chinese language by Hanban,the number of Confucius Institutes is increasing.Various new teaching methods emerge in an endless stream.How to select practical and effective teaching methods for overseas Chinese Teaching has caused widespread concern and discussion.According to the author’s one-year teaching practice in the New Zealand primary and secondary school Chinese class,the TBLT teaching method has been widely used in second language acquisition because of its interest,practicability and motivation.However,the TBLT teaching method is currently used in New Zealand.There is not much research on the use of Chinese in primary schools.This article intends to explore the use of TBLT in the teaching of Chinese in New Zealand’s elementary and middle school classrooms.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly expounds the reasons for the topic,the research purpose and research methods,and discusses the related concepts and theoretical basis of the TBLT teaching method.The second chapter analyzes the characteristics of the characteristics of the primary and middle school students in New Zealand and the features of the Chinese curriculum and the characteristics of the TBLT teaching method,and discusses the feasibility of adopting the TBLT teaching method in the Chinese language classroom in New Zealand.The third chapter uses case analysis to demonstrate the specific use of the TBLT pedagogy in the Chinese language classroom in New Zealand.In the fourth chapter,through the questionnaire survey of Chinese language teachers in New Zealand and the results of student interviews,the author analyzes the teaching effects of TBLT teaching method to get the advantages and disadvantages of TBLT teaching methods in Chinese teaching at the present stage,and puts forward suggestions for reflection.After analysis,it was concluded that the TBLT approach complies with New Zealand’s Chinese language teaching environment and promotes students’ Chinese language learning.Most teachers and students are supportive of it,which proves that the TBLT teaching method is more applicable to New Zealand primary and secondary school students,effective Chinese teaching methods.It is hoped that the results of this research can provide teaching materials and teaching references for other Chinese teachers who teach New Zealand students.At the same time,it will lead the academic community to further explore and practice the TBLT teaching model.
