The party's nineteenth report pointed out that we should fully implement the Party's education policy,enhance our students' well-rounded development,and nurture a new generation of capable young people who have a good and all-round moral,intellectual,physical,and aesthetical grounding and are well-prepared to join the socialist cause.Since College students are the backbone of socialist modernization construction in the new era,to enforce “model education” on them is not only beneficial to promote the comprehensive development of themselves,but also helps to improve the ideological and moral construction of all citizens;therefore it is especially important to have the “model education” on university students.In recent years,although the “model education” on college students in our country has made substantial progress,there are still some problems that cannot be ignored,such as weak model influences,difficult model identification,gradual formalization in model learning process,utilitarian tendency in practicing model activities etc.To solve these problems,we should not only rely on college students' own efforts,but also collaborate with colleges and universities and the social associations etc.Only in this way,college students' ideological and moral qualities could be further enhanced and the formation of good social moralities could be promoted.This paper mainly explores from the following three parts:Part One: overview of “model education” on university students.This part is mainly about the definition of “model education”,the distinction between “models” and so called “idols”,and the characteristics of “model education”.Meanwhile,“model education” has been analyzed scientifically and systematically with the aid of the “model education” theory in traditional Chinese culture and the integrated development theories of human beings in Marxism theories;thus to provide certain theoretical basis for the research of “model education”.Part Two: analysis on problems and reasons of “model education” on college students.Through the questionnaire survey of college students,certain problems have been found,such as weak model influences,difficult model identification,gradual formalization in model learning process,utilitarian tendency in practicing model activities etc.This paper analyzes the related issues from four aspects: a.educators' ignorance of individual inner cognition;b.college students' lack of good identification ability;c.lack of long-term management mechanism;d.the negative influence of social environment.Part Three: analysis of the countermeasures of “model education” on college students.Based on the current “model education” problems and the factors of educators,college students,mechanism constructions and the social environment,this paper raises several methods to ensure the validity of “model education”,such as “model exhibition method”,“model contrast method” and “unconscious influence method” etc.;college students should deepen their own education,constantly perfect the model selection,give incentives by activities,guarantee the mechanism and optimize the social environment of “model education” so as to improve college students' moral consciousness gradually.
