Maker originated in Europe and the United States,refers to the general term of people who have turned their ideas into reality.The philosophy that makers uphold is innovation,practice,cooperation,and sharing.Introducing the idea of maker into education has formed maker education.Maker instruction is the specific practice model of maker education.At present,due to the maturity of STAEM education in the United States,the United States is relatively easy to implement maker education.As a country implementing exam-oriented education in single subject teaching,China is still at the exploratory experimental stage for the maker instruction.Based on all these facts,the author,by reading a large amount of papers and summarizing the practice of maker education,built a maker instruction in combination with the idea of maker beyond the existing maker instruction.The maker instruction has three stages,namely,the stage of maker idea,the stage of maker practice,and the stage of maker action.This instruction was used to carry out experimental design.Two classes at the same basic level were selected,one class was taught in maker instruction while another one was taught in traditional instruction.The teaching effect was tested by questionnaire and test after a 8-week teaching experiment.According to the analysis of the experimental results,maker instruction can enhance students’ enthusiasm for learning and interest in classroom learning,and in particular can significantly improve students’ self-learning ability.
